EBay! Huh! Good God, y'all! What is it good for? Absolutely nothing, huh! Say it again!

So I spent most of my day negotiating with 2 Non Paying Bidders, to make them understand it's a Binding Contract and they need to follow through! image

    at first tells me he doesn't have the money and he's sorry, but if I can sharpen my pencil even more he will scratch it together! image

    TwoSides2aCoin, Funny but that's exactly where I'm at 60 day terms deals 1/3 now, 1/3 in 30 days, balance of 1/3 in 60days.

    Coin ships after the last check clears, and they can both have a 2.9% Paypal fees credit for paying by check. image

    Twosides- That was funny!! I appreciate all ebay does for me. Since this new policy went in effect i have had far more issues collecting money. I NEVER had a sale go south on a coin sale before this change, since this change i have had 8 sales i had to file to get payment. I let 2 out of there debts and the other 6 finally paid 10 days or so later. I have seen a rise in certified coins being returned also compared to before the change. I am slowing my listings down and i may finally chose to go a different avenue.

    Wow pennyannie that's really sad to hear! image

    So what happens when you file to get payment, and how binding is a EBay transaction anyway image

    Negotiate before buying/selling. There is no "room" or time after. I would follow eBay steps for nonpaying buyers,they get a strike, for what it is worth, get the fees back, Block(give us a heads up to), relist, and move on,........................Sunday had several "potental" buyers that wanted lower prices, wanted to end sale and curcumvent fees, wanted to meet to pick up gold, etc. Seems to be more of this stuff, of late.

    Actually, I was looking for the corresponding song to your thread title, Broadstruck. It's a good song. The one I linked to was an attempt to ease some of the pain in the neck and hope for a laugh, in spite of the injustices of the system.

    Get used to it, eBay is a ship of fools now. I buy but I won't sell again on there anytime soon.

    I am getting close to selling off most of what I am looking to liquidate, I have become a powerseller in the meantime, and with that, have run into more problems than ever in the past. Sad.... Good luck though Broadstruck, the good guys eventually win. image

    I have never blocked anyone in 7 or 8 years. I may start soon. I do a lot of buy it now/best offer and the offers lately are comical to say the least. I have seen a influx of new ebayers thinking everthing is 10 cents on the dollar.

    People figure if sports stars and entertainment performers can renegotiate their contracts why can't ebay buyers?
  • BroadstruckBroadstruck Posts: 30,497 ✭✭✭✭✭
    So what does Ebay do for a seller if you file a Non Paying Bidder image

    /////////////////////////

    Sadly, NPBs can leave NEGs; provided they:

    1. Respond to the NPB dispute.

    2. Mention a problem with the seller OR the item in the response.

    ///////////////////////////

    EBAY is looking at a way to eliminate NPBs. A scheme will likely be
    tried before 2010 that would exempt sellers from the downside of
    the NPB-process, IF the seller accepts PayPal as their ONLY payment
    method.

    (Ecrater currently has a similar scheme. No FB can be left by a buyer,
    UNLESS an electronic-payment confirmation is viewable.)

    ///////////////

    All that aside: There are legitimate reasons to allow NPBs to leave NEGs.
    That is the quandry that EBAY is faced with. If a buyer discovers he is
    being scammed AFTER he "buys" but before he pays, he needs to be
    able to warn others.
    Folks Who Bite Get Bitten. Folks Who Don't Bite Get Eaten.
  • Ebay should not have over reacted to retalitory negative feedback which resulted in them preventing every seller from leaving negative feedback.

    They should have thought and responded by preventing those sellers with 3 or more complaints of retaliatory negative feedback (where there's proof of payment) from leaving negative.
