.....................63....
Which means, of course, that it is likely graded 65 or better.
My Collection of Old Holders
Never a slave to one plastic brand will I ever be.
I would give it a 58. Nice coin!
For those who know, won't the graders look over your coins first before you submit them at shows to give a "professional opinion"? I think you may need to be a member of the CU 1st to have privileges to submit at shows, just like mail order submissions.

Too many positive BST transactions with too many members to list.
Also, the coin does not look dipped in my opinion.
A 21-S is a pretty good date!

<< <i>definate rub on the high points on the hip--- great strike but no more than an au55-58 !
That's what I see. That is not striking softness; it really looks seriously flattened out there--AU55/58-type rub. Also some rub high on the bison's foreleg and lower part of the mane there. As Shamika points out, the obverse does not exhibit nearly as much wear, at least not going by the photos. Odd coin. Very nice, but odd.
I do think that if this coin had no wear, it would really be a peach. The strike is very, very good.

BUT ... I would examine the edge closely below the MM
I think something is up with the rim at 12 o'clock on the obv, which should be directly under the MM on the rev
One of the ways MM's were added to these was to drill a hole in the edge and insert a tool that would emboss a MM from the inside out ...
I have seen a few that were VERY deceptive
“We are only their care-takers,” he posed, “if we take good care of them, then centuries from now they may still be here … ”

my thinking on submitting coins for grading is, you must be fairly confident
as to what you believe is the true grade first. otherwise it could turn out to
be an expensive lesson in grading. have as many opinions on it you can from
as many sources as you can before laying out the grading money.
any coin shops around you you can visit to have them scope it out?
btw,the coin does look pretty nice in your pics.

1921-S Buffalo
I can see the arguements that there may be a little rub, but I have a feeling it could sneak its way into a 63 holder. I've seen worse in 63 for sure!
If this is graded as a 58, it would be one of the best 58s out there I think.
