Thank you Laurent, it is a keeper, chosen with Mac's help during CICF 2006.
From the same series, here's a key date 1916 5 francs PCGS MS66 that I have decided to purchase, in its UBS file photo, from the recent Peak sale. It will soon be reimaged by mgood3, as a coin of this calibre deserves to be.

And a lovely early franc that is still available, a 1914 1F PCGS MS66, among the nicest one francs that I've had for sale.

Thank you Bill, the same goes for your Canadian supercoins. This thread is just full of superb coins, the kind that we like, tarnished.

I don't know which of the two 5Fs you refer to in regard to coinlieutenant. Because if it's the last one I posted, the 1916, it's litterally second best to coinlieutenant's stunning PCGS MS67, ex MrEureka, but I have the 1909 to tease him from time to time.

Both of them, Dimitri, but especially the 1916. The coinlieutenant's 5F is simply marvelous.

Hi Dimitri. The eBay coin is a 1936. The 1935 is a recent acquisition from NEN.

Another NEWP toner. There is some cool looking doubling on the 1, 9 and 5 of the date.

And an old favorite of mine.

Here's an 1815 Mexico City 8 Reales in a PCGS 50 slab. It has a nice, crusty patina, but also traces of lustre (especially on the reverse):

I've been playing with this one for some time to try to image it correctly so that the green toning will show well. This is my best attempt so far. It's a raw 1902 matte proof 1/2 crown.
