THE GREAT TONER POST - Darkside Edition!

Since the subject of "toners" are always a fun topic, let's see how many different darkside toners we can post. I know the US coin forum has a very long running thread of a bazillion posts showing different US toners.

Let's get a nice long thread started of dark/gray side toner pictures! Slabbed, raw, whatever; let's see them!

Cheers!

I can start with a couple that Bruce photographed for me recently. Hopefully you're not tired of seeing these yet. I don't have access to my Photobucket account from work, so i'll start with these........

i think you're right! IIRC, the US forum thread has over 1000 posts and is at least a couple years old and still going strong.

On the US Toner post we were limited to one coin per post per day. That post started March 16th, 2007 and is currently at 956 postings. It will reach 1000 in the next month or so I'm quessing. Here is my contribution for the day (that is if, of course, you allow me to play image). They were kind enough to allow the posting of Canadian coins - so pharmer and I had a lot of fun trying to one-up each other. (He won, of course).

whoa! i guess i mis-read the starting date on that thread! man, they've compiled a ton of posts in a short period of time. Due to the fact that we've got a much smaller forum here with much less traffic, i don't think we should limit ourselves to one post a day per person.

    bring 'em on darksiders!

    Doogy,

Just FYI - Starting on March 24th, we hit 500 on April 9th, 750 on May 6th and have managed only about 200 more in the last three months. There were a lot of folks that ran through their stash of toners in the first two to six weeks - including me. It was great fun and built some fine relationships between forum folks.

Gorgeous Liberian piece! Were the Liberian pieces from that period designed and struck in the US? It reminds me of the US 2 cent piece and the stella $4 gold piece.
