Not sure it's a good idea to post that address publicly. You might want to edit that, and PM it to the bottom 15 guys on the list from page 1.

thanks mcgwire museum but i already have that along with his phone #...i think most of the people have that now as we have all been talking ...

Posting addys publicly is usually counter productive.

Moral high-ground and all that kind of thing.

It's likely a CLCT TOS violation, too.

    Just suggesting.

Wow, this is certainly a tough crowd. image

I mentioned that I would refund the payments....I guess that I should've been clear that it would be Monday morning. Guys, I'm not going to run off with cash or anything like that. I know that we've had a few guys rip US off here on the boards, but I'm not one of those guys. Don't worry, I'll gain your trust back, I'm sure of it.

FYI: The refund requests sent to me were all honored this morning.

Arny...I was one of the skeptics about the direction that this was heading....my apologies and I hope you have a quick recovery to your situation!

By the way...here is my Birthday gift from Arny (I will be using the refund to pay for this one)!!

Thanks for the kind words and well wishes Mike. I really do appreciate it. And, great lookin' card there! image

I'm really sorry how this thing turned out and I wish that I would've been more proactive in getting assistance from folks from the beginning. Well, lesson learned for me that's for sure. image

Hopefully I'll be able to regain the trust of the people here on the boards and take myself off of that list of scammers. I am not a scammer and I'm sure that with the 5 years of interaction on these boards and the 28 years that I've been involved with our wonderful hobby that I will be able to conduct transactions here on the boards without others even having to wonder.

    Sorry guys.

all the refunds have not been given back i am still waiting...
  • I received my refund thanks Arny. Just a little advise(not that you want it) if your communication would have been better and more frequent I don't think the guys here would have been as upset about the situation. Good luck getting back on your feet.
  • Got my refund back this morning. Thanks Arny.

  • I hate to butt in...but...

If the money was sent, and nothing was bought....why isn't the money readily available for immediate refunds?

    Arny

It was good to hear from you.

As I said earlier - I was confident that this would be positively resolved.

If everyone is patient - I'm sure everyone will be taken care of.

Arny's been one of our valued contributors here over my time here and fully trust him now and in the future.

I hope everyone will find it in their hearts to forgive that incident and be able to work with Arny in the future.

Last - Arny - I was sorry to hear about your situation - that's really hard when both are hit.

I wish you and your wife all the best - and hope you both find even better jobs in the very near future! image

As always - your friend at CU

Just wanted to concur with Mike's comments. I'm glad that Arny has made good - I too thought it would turn out this way in the end. I believe it should have happened sooner and that there should have been better communication, but none of us are living in Arny's shoes. Hard to say how any one of us would have handled it.

At any rate, I just now finished making arrangements to have my birthday gift sent to me. I'll post here and in the mail call thread - I'm pretty excited to finally land this card.

Is 4-1/2 months (12-8 birthday) patient enough? I see 6 refunds out of the 14 or 15 in total. Maybe my math is off but there still seem to be quite a few refunds remaining.

<<<I hope everyone will find it in their hearts to forgive that incident and be able to work with Arny in the future.>>>

Once the debt is paid in full, I have no problem putting this behind me. The "work with Arny in the future" part is a stretch, however.

    15 - cravetopps - December 8th (Collects Al Barlick-'55 Bowman PSA 8, Sparky Anderson-'70 PSA 9 or Nellie Fox-'56 Topps PSA 8)

1955 Bowman Al Barlick PSA 8 - SMR = $235, Ebay, Average of last 3 sales from VCP is $236.75 (last sale was 5/14/07 for $214.07)

1970 Topps Sparky Anderson PSA 9 - SMR = $135, none currently on Ebay, Average of last 5 sales from VCP is $106.03 (last sale was 11/12/07 for $119.75)

1956 Topps Nellie Fox PSA 8 - SMR = $175, Ebay 1 Ebay 2, Average of last 5 sales from VCP is $156.41 (last sale was 3/6/08 for $108.50, the other 4 were over $150)

Don’t take this the wrong way, but maybe your "wants" outweighed the amount of money available to purchase them.

Arny has shown good faith in starting to refund the money...so I think the additional piling on is unnecessary. Stone’s post from which you quoted summed it up quite well, IMO.
  • <<<<Don’t take this the wrong way, but maybe your "wants" outweighed the amount of money available to purchase them.>>>

Yes, except that you left out the (). Here is my message "unedited". You left out Gaylord Perry, PSA 7, btw.

"Al Barlick - 1955 Bowman PSA 8 or higher (I would pay the difference)
Sparky Anderson - 1970 PSA 9 (ditto above)
    Gaylord Perry - 1962 or 1966 Topps PSA 7 or 8
    Nellie Fox - 1956 Topps PSA 8

Again....I would pay the difference on any of these cards. This is for both my HOF Player Set and my HOF Complete Set."

I am patient. What would be a nice gesture on his part is to provide a timeframe. I have had zero communication.

3 More Refunds sent today...please send me the bills for the refunds if I owe you funds.

Guys, can we exercise some patience please. Things are getting done and because I'm running around on the interviews trying to get my new job, I can't be on here 100% of the time to get everything done at once.

It's not a matter of not having the funds, it's a matter of making sure that the people I'm refunding are the correct ones and all of that.

Please send me a PM here if I still owe you. Thanks guys!

Good talkin' to you brotha! image

Guys and gals, not that you'll be 100% interested (at least not all of you), but I just wanted to share that I went on my first "official" interview and it seemed to go very well. image

I've got the drug testing to do now (which I'll pass with flying colors...unlike a few of you! image ) and then I've got a follow-up interview/presentation to do next week. Thanks to all of you that have wished me well....it's working so far! image

Mike, I'm in the 'banking' business. Tough business nowadays. image

But, I am also in the contact center business (including customer service, sales and revenue recovery) and those are doing good as far as business goes. So, I've got a few avenues to pursue.

At this point, the most serious option seems to be the 'banking' one, but it's in a role that is tied in with sales and service. So, it should be a good one. image
