    Stop torturing yourself!

Place Ali Rajhi Sheik on your blocked list, block his incoming email,

give him the Negative he's bucking for and let it rip!

    That's That!

How is the buyer supposed to know which of these statements is true? I think you own him an apology not a negative.
Who is General Failure, and why is he reading my hard drive?

IMO, with the neg and the "I hate you" e-mail, the buyer already burned that bridge.

After looking at SteveK's illustration I humbly retract the latter part of my previous post, in this respect.

If this bidder truly IS from India (judging by his sentence structuring, I would tend to believe he IS) .... I can

see where this could be confusing for someone that struggles with command of the English Language.

Granted, he COULD have asked first BUT - what is written IS written.

It's easy for something to get lost in translation.

If the guy has a valid PayPal account - accept payment in his Native Currency.

PayPal can & will convert his funds to US Dollars. This would put an end to all this and you COULD very well

come away with a satisfied customer!

Who knows ... if you show "Good Faith" he just MAY return the Favor by helping to

get the Negative removed and all would, once again, be well. image

    JMHO, of course!

    Bon Chance, mon ami. image

Okay, I will say it yet another time: This is not about the location! I offered to ship to him in India or his brother's house in the U.S. Now this is the part that some of you cannot seem to comprehend: he had no way to pay me other than to email me a credit card number.....an Indian credit card to be specific. So, for those of you who sell on eBay, what would you do with such a number?

I went out of my way to accommodate this guy. I even offered to find him similar items for less money. I won't keep repeating things, but if you read my first post to this thread and the verbatim messages within this thread you will get a better understanding.

Some of the responses here epitomize exactly what is wrong with eBay these days; everything is illogical. What seems right, i.e. an honest seller who goes above and beyond with free shipping, true auctions (no reserve, $0.01 start) and a generous return policy, is deemed bad, yet a seller of fakes with overpriced shipping and no return policy seems to thrive.

But I am done talking about it. I am not upset about the negative........ rather, I am fascinated at the assinine way eBay deals with these black-and-white issues. This should have been a no-brainer for them. They told me that a simple change to my preferences would have prevented an outside bidder, but why wasn't that automatic? I thought that when I picked "ship to U.S. only" when I loaded the auction through eBay, that would take care of things. It did not. And I also learned that if someone wins an auction and they do not have a way of paying via a credit card to a confirmed address, they can still neg you. It doesn't hurt my business, so no big deal, but geesh.

In closing, I want to say "no hard feelings" to anyone here. Ken, who took some exception to my issue, and I have met before and I like him. Good guy and a real collector. I just wanted some opinions and I appreciate everyone's time. I agree that I could have handled this better. I only argued a bit in a healthy manner to keep the facts straight, but we are all entitled to our own opinions. I am done with this thread for now (until I get some earth shattering news from eBay on the subject or more humorous emails from Rajan).

Why haven't you negged this guy yet? image
  • Neg the guy, accept the neg from him, and for gods sake, make SURE ALL your auctions, in the future, state SOMEWHERE that you will NOT ship outside the U.S. Stating that you will ship to SOME countries outside the U.S., you may as well just ship worldwide. I see it as one way or the other, period. Look back at your total sales OUTSIDE the U.S. Is it enough to leave yourself open to the NONSENSE that has gone on with this auction? Hmmm, I got me some cake.....hmmm, I am hungry.......cant have it and eat it to. IN the U.S. ONLY, or worldwide, period...makes no sense to say 'I'll ship to SOME countries, not ALL'....maybe if you put a list of countries you WONT ship to, then you wouldn't have to deal with this again. And remember, you are dealing with EBAY....some/most people using ebay need to have things spelled out, they need their hand held when it comes to direction. Spell it out explicitly, or expect to have to hold hands. I can't imagine stopping sales outside the U.S. is gonna kill you. Hell, there's enough problems with buyers IN the U.S.

I am late to the party but why couldn't Rajan have his brother pay in US dollars and the seller ship it there? (to his brother)

Sometimes we are the ones that make things complicated.

    Steve
    Good for you.

Get this: I was told to leave him a negative and then use the mutual retraction method to get it removed. eBay is bass-ackwards.

Sure you were ebay gets paid when that happens.

    Steve
    Good for you.

Steve, in the first post to this thread I included the email correspondence. In one email I said: "You could mail an international money order or have someone send a payment from a U.S. address." His only apparent means of payment was to email me a credit card number. I have no way of processing that information. He was new to eBay at the time with about 10 transactions and all were under $10 (US).

Screw this jerk. You told him and if he can't deal with it then don't let it be your problem. I don't sell outside the US and if someone in Mongolia bids on it and wins it for 3X the value, tough luck, no sale. This guy is a jerk and I am suprised at the jerk responses you got from people like him and ksteelheader that have less sense than typical roach droppings.

I would advise you to take this case to PayPal, no, not ksteelheader's moron comments, but the issue with this sale. EBay will remove the negative. There is little we can do about kstoolheader other than cross your legs and hope for sunlight and supervision. image

edited to add, I see below that it says only some of our auctions will ship outside the US, but at the least, it is confusing.... >>

Yes, I think also that this will be a problem. >>

I am terrified by this whole deal. First things first. My name "YAHA" comes from the Indian decent. But it must be noted that India and Indians are two different cultures!!! I don't understand even if he had a Credit Card from Indian or maybe you meant India if it has a VISA logo it should be fine anywhere in the country.

But lets say his credit card isn't good in the U.S. you could of told him one last option that you would accept. WESTERN UNION!!.
I would of explain to him, he made the mistake and now you are going to try to help him out, you will send his items to his brothers house with Sig/Conformation and that you must send me a WESTERN UNION payment and then items will be shipped when everything clears, "NO REFUNDS PERIOD". You could give him all of the tracking numbers during your delivery of his goods.

If he doesn't want to do this, neg him and tell him I own my product, you haven't bought it persay at the moment because no money or items have been exchange. Good luck with any future endeavors on Stress/Bay.

Ken from reading your post I truly feel you have some underlying issues with numisma
he has stated many times he was willing to ship the thing to India but needed a solid form
of payment. I can only hope for your judgment against numisma that this loonie bids on a couple
of your auctions and you get to deal with a credit card number through email and not paypal.

I would be very curious how you would deal with it then. Don't forget numisma did offer to ship it
to him or to his brother. But he refused to send a simple payment.
It's my opinion the guy is just ticked off because his SCAM didn't go through. If my brother lived
in another country and wanted an item I would gladly pay for it and have it sent to my address
in the States. I would then forward it to him.

Numisma made the effort he declined the offer...You bring all meaning to the phrase

There's not too many of us common folk left, it seems there are too many "RIGHTERS" in the world today. I try every option possible when I have a sale or a buy, if it smells funny it's a scammy.

I told my dog to get off her pedestal and eat her breakfast, she looked at me and put her head back down, so if this is any indication of things to come in our great times ahead, "Watch Out".
