I quit. "ok so I dont quit completely"

Well, today marks a new experience for me. I had put all my worthwhile stuff in a small metal case and was going to the bank after my Dr. appointment. I left my truck parked outside at my doctors office with the case on the rear floor. Doors locked. alarm set. After about 20 minutes of waiting I went outside to get my glasses and .............. its gone. Everything is gone. Truck, my ASE's ,my one and only AGE, $185.00 face 90% silver. My Garrett Ace 250 detector, tool box. EVERTHING.
At least I had taken my pistol in the house last night.
So for now, I will just lurk here and mess around on ebay for a while till I recover a little.
Dont know what else to say except . Protect your stuff.

Man, with my recurring back problem, awaiting surgery, the pain, the debilitating pain I am in daily, having to take med after med....but after reading that, my deepest sympathies, man. I can only imagine how much that must have hurt once you really realized the vehicle was gone. I have had my car stolen before, and you stand ther for what seems like days, looking in places you KNOW your car wasnt parked, then you finally realize its gone. That does suck, and you got my deepest sympathies, man!!!

This kind of stuff really sucks and makes it hard to keep a civil attitude. Stories like this make me want to investigate the costs of those GPS locators that go on vehicle to help with retrieval when they are stolen. Does anyone know the costs of the item and subscription costs for the service, or know any of the vendors of the products. Guess I could do a search but really looking for any anecdotal experience anyone has had with any of them.

Damn, makes me think twice about how I store my coins in my apartment. I know I should have them locked up somewhere.

Good luck, maybe the thief was so cracked out they won't realize all that other stuff in the truck. Best wishes.

Someone stole my Toyota Celica in 1994. Nothing left but a few shards of glass on the sidewalk. Crime is everywhere in Baltimore. It was an 86 model I bought brand new. Never saw it again. Got 4K from Gecio. Sorry to hear about your misfortune. I feel your pain.

Sincerest sympathies. I too have had my vehicle stolen. Never saw it again.

Hope your's is a better ending. "Stuff" can be replaced. Who's to say how this would've played out if you had been in the truck - carjacking, gun in the face,........?

Hopefully the police will find everything in tact. Will your insurance cover any of this? I think homeowners insurance might cover theft of personal stuff from your car.

State Farm informed me if you don't have a supplemental policy for Collections they are not covered. At least under my standard policy they weren't.

    Sorry to hear it.

Having had my vehicle stolen a couple days before Christmas 2006 (full of gifts) I know the feeling. It is one of utter disbelief... at least for me it was.

Hopefully you'll at least get the vehicle back.

I am also very sorry for all you lost and will pray you get it all back.
I have an ASE for you too, just PM me and it's yours, from one collector to another.

There was a horrible house explosion today from natural gas, in the Pittsburgh area. A grandfather was taking care of his 4 year old granddaughter when it blew. Grandpa is dead, the 4 year old injured but will be okay by the grace of God. Terrible. So although you lost material things, I'm grateful like others mentioned, that you weren't injured by some crazy crackhead. God bless.

And PM me, I'm serious about the eagle!

Edited to add - I agree with what Russ said - that bugger needs to pay dearly. Our home was robbed many years ago and I know the sick feeling of someone taking what you worked your *ss off for. He eventually did so much crime, by the time he was caught he served 10 years in state pen... not enough in our book.

Oh, rest assured, the "scumbag" WILL get His, BELIEVE THAT!

The old saying, "What goes around, comes around" isn't an old saying merely by Happenstance. Call it Kharma - call it whatever you like, but in Time, eventually, somehow/ some day ... he WILL get his.

With this being said and you stating that everything was locked, that your truck has an alarm AND that everything was in a metal Box, in the rear of your Truck, I also agree that this smells of an inside job. Someone that not only knows your business but apparently has access to your keys and may have made a spare set would be where I'd start.

Any people you hire and trust enough to Welcome into your Home would be where I'd start.

If it's any help at all, I also would like to help buffer the pain of some of your loss by offering some ASEs or something.

PM me and Good Luck. Just think about this for a while. Anybody fit that bill?

    Regards,

    Boom image

As usual - edited for spelling corrections image

One more thing, BTW. Remove your Name and personal info from World View. It's a good place to start. Sad but True!

Guys. I really appreciate the offers. I didn;t post this to get sympathy. I just feel like you guys are like distant friends that I can talk to and sometimes share the good and bad times with.
All the offers are very kind. Thanks guys.

My insurace (State Farm) wont cover my coins or my truck because I didnt have full coverage.
The local LEOs might have a suspect but I have a feeling my truck is in the lake somewhere or late tonight it will make a nice bonfire.
I just wish I had been more observant and carrying my pistol when they took my truck. I HATE a thief.
You guys here are the greatest bunch of guys Ive known in many years.
I hope to be in a position to return the kindness someday soon.

Sorry to hear about it brother, but you can gain some matter of satisfaction by knowing that those types of people generally lead a miserable life. Being a thief is hard work for little pay. A life of jail houses, welfare, fights, and a wretched old age awaits them.

Very sorry to hear about this. I would like to help. Get me your address and I will send you an ASE as well as some other pieces to get you started back again. I had my home broken in to many years ago. I will never forget the feeling. Luckily my coin collection was secured in the safe, but a lot of other stuff was never recovered. The thiefs were caught, I'm happy to say.

I hope I've got my profile set up to where you can get email me back. If not, let me know through the forum. I do want to help.
