Its probably because they ship FedEx the minimum weight for FedEx is 1 LB

I live in Ft. Collins CO and every year someone drops a couple of Kruggerands in a different Salvation Army bucket. Which I happen to think is pretty cool. If you are the person who does this, I want you to know you have my respect and admiration. Not only because you give so generously but because you choose to remain unknown!!! Thanks!!!

It could be that people who arent aware of the new dollars think they were issued during Washingtons presidency, since the only dates on the coin are of his presidency--are people that out of it?
