Sorry Bro, the bad thing about getting in late is that everyone has wrapped up their sets and they are looking to cash out on the
rest. I have a bunch of extras but are looking for some of the harder pulls...black refs, autos...etc. Paypal works too. I can go 2
bucks a pop for you and much less on the others. I just need to get something I know I can move. Good Luck man!

I was very disappointed in seeing this card. You would think that since it is a true one of one that Topps would make it look a lot better. What are your thoughts????

It's signed where it's signed, and obviously Topps cant change that to make it look more attractive. Could they have picked a better signed photo to cut? Yes they could have. Just my two cents.

    Well I busted 2 boxes......

First boxes, I am sure had a few SP's (haven't gone through them yet) but that was it.....a couple of inserts, but no chrome or refractor or anything!

    Second box had the following:

    Pedro Feliz Chrome (#90) 328/1958
    Ichiro Chrome (#110) 193/1958
    JJ Putz Chrome (#98) 73/1958
    Endy Chavez (#18) 68/1958
    Nate Robertson Refractor (#87) 63/558
    A-Rod 68
    A-Rod 60
Al Kaline Clubhouse Collection Bat Relic
DELMON YOUNG REAL ONE AUTO :0)

Second box was much kinder to me.....should have a list of all base and SP's by the weekend

If you have any needs please PM me, or email me brandonhelser@yahoo.com

    Thanks

$2000 for a 1/1 Mantle Heritage!? That would have been my min bid. Although the card is not astecially (sp?) pleasing I think the buyer got a steal and the seller could have made off with much more. Can you imagine the thrill of pulling THAT?

This is pretty much how I felt.......especially after the first box.

I am just glad I opened the boxes in the order I did, it would have been a pretty depressing second box, if it had been switched

Horrible choice for a cut signature..you know...Mantle sigs are sooooooooo hard to come by. Instead they decide on a signed crotch shot of Mantle...

LMAO @ John....you know if you pulled that it would be called a work of art the most important heritage card ever! LOL

2K is a steal for this card from this set. There are guys ready to plop down 250 bucks on a no namer red auto numbered to
58, those people would pay MUCH more for the card to end all cards...afterall, there can only be one "master" set.

Still have to wonder where the 06 cuts are.

Not me. There are some people still trading on here. I still have plenty of work to do as well. I just don't seem to have enough time between work, racquetball, family, and busting boxes. I still need 40 SP's from this year and probably 20 from 2006. I will be posting shortly. At least I hope.

Thanks to the four good folks I have completed trades with thus far...

Topps should be ashamed for making that card for this set. That is just one more reason for me to just buy a master set next July. That is the first cut auto of a player I have seen from any year of Heritage. It is disgusting.

Yup, I'm agreeing with you on that one. They said it was a cut and I'm not sure how they could make it more attractive (not saying it is). Seeing how much some other Mantle cuts went for (Sterling, as an example), the person that bought it was, almost certainly, not a Heritage collector and got a Mantle 1/1 for under $2,000. I say it was a very big deal considering.

And, yes, Kevin, I, too, would have pronounced it as the second coming if I had pulled it. Lights, perhaps a disco soundtrack in the background, smoke in from the sides as I tapped out these words...."I....pulled....the...Mantle....cut"; cue the effects.

I would much rather see a cut sig from a baseball than a photo any day. Or even better would have been a white piece of paper.

Well for starters, get a different auto. There are only 50,000 + autos that are out there with the Mick's ink. I think it was a terrible photo selection, a nice pull but a poor photo shot.

    Wow !
    What a pull !
I'd have held on to it though .
As for the location of the sig/ the legs pic ?
I suppose he didn't want to sign across his face or something .
I'm more than certain he would have never been able to guess someone was going to cut his signature off the original pic as well .

    Congratulations !

Well, at least only one person can be unhappy with the Mantle. Despite being such an odd looking card, in the next go round (if there is one) it will sell for at least twice as much. After all , just how many Mantle crotch auto's are there ?

Still looking to fill some holes! Getting closer on the relics and refractors. The chrome is getting painfully close for 07! Stopped by a Pamida yesterday just to buy a blaster and they had buy one get one at 1/2 off so I walked out with 4 blasters and 2 bowman chrome draft! I almost went hog wild and bought up all the heritage football and bowman heritage too! Ended up with a nice David Wright group A relic. Nothing much else to speak of. Any help from any year is appreciated. Will do $$ too. Have lots of 06 and 07 to trade. (the 07 wants are at the bottom)

OK guys. The heritage is done, and im left with the addiction of busting packs. What retail blasters from the usual places (Target, Toys R us, WalMart, etc...) are as fun to open with possible autos and relics? I have thought about ordering a case of 2006 Heritage baseball, but you all made last years product sound less than good. I have already busted some blasters like Turkey red basketball, Topps chrome basketball, Topps baseball, and none of it was as fun. Any ideas? Thanks

    Nam,

I think any year of heritage is a blast to crack open. Unopened product from both 2004 and 2006 are still very reasonably priced (50-60 per box). 2005 is tougher to find and is a bit higher (maybe 75-80 per box). In my opinion, however, of the years 2004-2007, 2005 was the best product. I wouldn't be frightened by 2006 - just depends if you like the look of the cards. In general all of these years were the same winning formula: authentic vintage designs, sp's seeded 1 per 2 packs, chromes, relics, autos seeded about the same. If you liked the fun of building in 2007, the other years are a bit easier in that the chromes are 3-4 per box (versus 2-3 this year), and the chrome checklists this year was WAY WAY down compared to previous years. Of course in time the rookies could prove that wrong, but no pujols, jeter, a-rod, griffey in the chrome set this year hurts.

You'll still find lots of traders for those years (including me) and they are still readily available on the bay.

Plus, you need something to tide you over till a&g, if you want to take that plunge. Beware, there a lot of parallels for that set, so have an approach and discipline. They are beautiful however.

I can get an 8 box retail case of 2006 heritage baseball for $360.00, and the 8 box hobby case of 2006 heritage baseball is $415.00 Someone told me the only difference is the box toppers in the hobby version. Is this true? Is there a difference in "pull frequency"? At only $45.00 per box, if the only difference is the box topper, I may order a case.

    parkerjparkerj Posts: 1,098 ✭✭✭
No hobby box toppers in heritage 2006 (or 2005 for that matter). The only diff between hobby and retail is the chance at one of the 2 cut sigs (57 mantle or 57 williams) which apparently have not surfaced yet, so they presumably are still unopened. All other seedings are identical (sp's, chromes, relics, autos, etc) Personally, I'd go for the retail, and at $45 a box, thats a bargain! (pm me where you can get that one!)
