Kurt that card is totally awesome! Are going to keep it?

My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 2 (2003). My son was diagnosed with Type 1 when he was 17 on December 31, 2009. We were stunned that another child of ours had been diagnosed. Please, if you don't have a favorite charity, consider giving to the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation)

Kurt's pull kinda makes me wonder.

The last couple years, Snider hasn't been part of the flashback set, but Topps has issued a separate seat relic card of him both years. Here's another /10 that was pulled early on in '07:
    image

I'm kinda wondering if every /10 snider this year is unique?

    Here's one from last year:
    image

As a Dodger fan, I wish they'd just put him in the Flashback set and give me & the rest of the Dodger fans a nice seat relic to chase!

The card that Kurt pulled is by far the nicest seat card I have seen. Those colors are striking. Thats big money on ebay if you
decide to go that route. Of course Im sure more than one person on here would love to add that to their collection.

Thanks, guys, funny thing was the pack also had a Chrome in it as well. I was pretty psyched, to say the least. The color of the Dodger stadium seat is actually orange. Must be Photoshop playing tricks.

Geordie, you may be right about them being unique because the back of the card mentions Hank Sauer as well as Snider and the Polo Fields.
The doubly amusing part is I pulled a Snider Distinguished Service Auto from the '07 Topps set a couple of weeks ago. I should call him and say I'm stalking him.

I don't know, that last one went for some serious bones. I am leaning towards putting it up. Would really put a dent in this year's purchase.

    Guys,

Has anyone been burned on a trade from this board yet? Just wondering ...... the more that I trade on other sites with strict guidlines regarding trading the more I realize that this forum is really like the wild wild west. This is not a knock at all because I have not been burned on a trade but just a question. It gets tough keeping track and I have a TON of cards that are due via trade from this forum ....

y'know, Dan, there's something about this particular community that is unlike anything I've ever been a part of (with the lone exception being OBC, which is a whole different ballgame than anything out there). I can't put my finger on why, but there just don't seem to be the scumbags on CU that you find by the ton at other places, Beckett for instance. Yes, the Gary thing was very, very bad, but thankfully guys like him are pretty rare. Since I've started hanging around here, I can't recall a single incident regarding Heritage that went sour. I guess that's what I enjoy about this gang - there seems to be a pretty deep level of trust & respect. The Bench is nice for its structured trades and accountability, but I sure do like it here better.

    Thanks Geordie,

I agree with everything you just stated about this forum. I have had nothing but positive dealings with everybody here. Perhaps this is a topic that deserves a thread of its own? Some feedback from guys who have been here for a long time? "The Bench" which you just mentioned is in fact one of the sites I am talking about. Pretty cool place for trading in my humble opinion. Accountability is of high importance there. Trades are tracked, trades are rated, guys are given a score for their efforts ..... makes it alot tougher for the few that do have bad intentions.

This is not a exclusive community in which trust above all is the glue that binds everything. This is a place in which ANYBODY can filter in and like clockwork there is always going to be some bad mixed in with all the good things about this forum.

Just some thoughts of mine and I will not continue to sidetrack this great thread!

That Snider dual relic card is friggin' SWEET! Great pull, Kurt!!!

The more I see these cards this year, the more I think Topps hit a home run with this set. The cards are diverse, colorful, and fun to collect.

Now, if they only kept out those Arod HR cards...

Can I put through my request to finish off this puppy?

By the way, everybody has been awesome with the trades. Really unique, I have to say, the willingness and generiousity expressed here. I'm sure it's all over in our hobby, but looking on other boards and seeing the crap that gets slapped up on the bay, it can be difficult sometimes not to be cynical.

Anyway, that hallmark moment is over, back to me, me, me...

58 Nick Swisher Short Print The Thin Lettering version
    86 Fred Lewis Short Print

Im definitely not a Heritage "case ripper" (maybe 1 box each year just to have something to open), but glancing through this post yesterday made me go to Target and pick up 6 blasters.

I bought a box of 2007 Heritage. It was a blast to open.

I am not going to pursue a set, so if anyone needs my chromes, just make a decent offer.

    Rob Mackowiak # 57 279/558 sliver colored
    Jonathon Broxton #22 1016/1958
    Reggie Abercrombie # 45 872/1958

I also got yellow letter Valentin 53, and 78 Theriot, if anyone is interested.

I just opened 6 more retail boxes and still no auto. I did pick up some more Clubhouse cards bringing my total to 33 now. I am pretty close to finishing another master set so I am going to update my want/trade list here shortly.

I broke down and bought two blasters today.

Very disappointed in the quality, a lot of dinged corners.

No autos, game used, or black refractors. After 4 hobby boxes and 12 blaster last year with nothing, I'm not surprised.

The Mantle and Arod subsets seem like a filler. Yuk!!

The chromes I pulled were of a guy I've never heard of and a team card. WTF??

Probably won't buy more, best of luck to the rest of you.

Well, no GU is a bit disturbing but the lack of autos or black refractors in that amount of boxes is no surprise. Sorry you got bummed out shawn ...... better luck next year?! image

Well, I don't have my lists all done, and the 2007 list will probably change drastically this weekend if my cases come tomorrow, but here are my starter lists Let me know if you are interested in any trading. The 2006 is probably about set as I don't think I'll order any more, the turkey red still needs my availables added, and the 2007 I didn't list the Clubhouse cards I need so just let me know what you have.

Just some things to think about:

Why do the checklists have first, second, or third series on them? Is there really more than one series?
Why do we always get 10-12 cards of Endy Chavez or Adam Kennedy? Does anyone ever get 10-12 cards of Jeter, Pujols, or ARod?
With a calculated 35,000 print run or more of each SP, are there really any short prints? Keep in mind, chrome sets are not to dificult to assemble with less than 2,000 of each available.

Ive just send out my first batch of trades. It great to add some newbies to the list and of course the vets too. I have gotten
to the point where if I don't pull something massive out of a retail blaster Im disappointed. I guess we have gotten a little
spoiled here, there have been some massive pulls! I look forward to some more trades. Im also looking to sell for thrid book
or close to ebay prices if you can find them. Sometimes people will pay a little more than ebay prices to get all the cards on their
list instead of buying a huge lot with maybe 60% of their needs.

    Thanks

Ousiders look at this product and laugh...where is the value??? Welp we know better. Not only is this set very fun to put together, but that
fun lasts for years. When my boys get older Ill show them my sets and we will collect together!

Actually I have feared that there WOULD be very little value in this product, but some of the cards that people have pulled here are
some of nicest I have seen in a long time!

The one thing I have to question is its now the end of March, we have gone through 2006 and much 2007 and so far have seen NO
cuts. Sure there are only 6 of them, but still cmon.

The higher end autos and GU in this set are still very popular. I just solg two black refractors from last year for 60 bucks a piece! Every
year that goes by, more and more collectors jump this wagon. They are going to be looking to plug holes. Might this be a good investment
    for the long term??

Im still preparing for a HUGE retail drop in a week or so, I can't believe that the production uppage happened all in hobby, but at
    53/box, perhaps I am wrong!
