    Here's mine:

    165 Michael Carter
    343 Stan Brock
    30 Tony Eason
    250 Curtis Green
    353 Drew Hill
    187 Bernie Kosar RC
    300 Joey Browner
    324 Cliff Odom
    282 Frank Pollard
    369 Rick Bryan
    101 Al Toon RC
    223 Tim Lewis
    302 Greg Coleman
    211 Kenny Easley
73 Mike Haynes - The sole HOFer in the pack
    174 Ken Jenkins

The Kosar is actually the nicest centered card in the pack. Too bad about the centering on the Haynes and Toon.

I agree. Some guys love them too. Plus they make it hard to tell if the corner is chipped because the green, touch of white stripe from the pattern and the cardboard color.

We are getting to the good stuff now. 86 and below in football are all quality imo.

I'm not a huge fan of the design used with these cards. But, you can't knock the player selection and important cards in this issue. Plus, the design actually makes it more of a challenge to those putting the set together.

someone asked earlier about Kosar....that 1986 in the scan is his rookie card......haven't busted my pack yet, I know I'm late but took my son to the Indians game last night....what an effort....two laser shots into the Indians bullpen for PRONK and then a bottom of the 10th walk off homer by Peralta....doesn't get much better than that....even though the Indians are out of it, that Sowers kid looks like the real deal so far also....

I'll get my pack opened today......I decided to stay home from work so I'll have plenty of time to get it done....

    Here are my '86's ....

    image

This pack produced some decent names. Love the Jaworski card with him in a baseball cap. The Dent card is great --- he looks as though he's about to kill someone.

Condition was sporadic with this pack --- had a few gems, but others (like Dent) were pretty miscut top to bottom.

Also, got Gerald Riggs 1000 yard club AGAIN --- creeps me out a little...

    Complete pack:
    - Richard Dent, DE, Bears
    - Danny White, QB, Cowboys
    - Dwight Clark, WR, 49ers
    - Leonard Marshall, DE, Giants
    - Ron Jaworski, QB, Eagles
    - Gerald Riggs, 1000 Yard Club
    - Dieter Brock, QB, Rams
    - Stephone Paige, WR, Chiefs
    - Seahawks TL
    - Checklist 133-264
    - Fredd Young, ILB, Seahawks
    - George Rogers, RB, Redskins
    - Andre Tippett, OLB, Patriots
    - Checklist 265-396
    - Raphel Cherry, S, Redskins
    - Ozzie Newsome, TE, Browns
    - Dave Duerson, S, Bears
    - Jimmy Williams, OLB, Lions

If I had gotten in on this I would donate. Speaking of which ...

I'm collecting '86 Topps 49ers cards if anyone wants to ship what they've got my way I'd appreciate it. In fact, don't even look at the players' names just shuffle through your pack when you open it and mail out all 49ers.

    No?

dj -- you need to have your picture uploaded and "hosted" somewhere (not here) .. then all you do is "link" that picture and it embeds (you can use the picture icon and input the URL location of the picture. It may sound complicated, but it's pretty easy when you get the hang of it.

I upload my pictures to my comcast account. Others use free services like photobucket. Wherever you upload it, just notate the location and input the URL into your reply using the picture icon.

PM me if you have problems.

    Woo-hoo .... 85's are HERE!!!!!!

Busting this pack was SO much fine .. definitely the highlight of this experience for me so far. I just love these cards. Seeing them pack fresh was just an absolute joy .....

    Onto the scans ....

    image

Two things amazed me about this pack bust:

    1. The two cards in the best condition (PSA 9 or 10 material) happened to be the two best cards in the back (I think) --- Howie Long & Jim Plunkett.

    2. It marks the second time in what is now 6 pack bust that I got a "Raider heavy" pack

Oh ---- and I did pull a Warren Moon .... ... a Warren Moon sticker! Is that thing worth anything?

    My entire pull:
    - Howie Long, Raiders (this may PSA 10, it's that nice)
    - Jim Plunkett, Raiders
    - Freeman McNeil, Jets
    - Dwight Clark, 49ers (gum stain)
    - Tim Lewis, Packers
    - Alfred Jackson, Falcons
    - Steve Watson, Broncos
    - Louis Breeden, Bengals
    - Randy Cross, 49ers (edge ding & wax stain)
    - Jim Jeffcoat, Cowboys
    - Mike Hegman, Cowboys
    - Ken Hill, Rams
    - Don Rogers, Browns
    - Dave Wilson, Saints
    - Dwight Hicks, 49ers
    - Warren Moon *sticker*
    - George Rogers *sticker *

    Overall, a lot of fun!

I'm with T on this one! Best time I've had opening a pack are these '85s....it also helps that I'm building the set in all PSA 9 or better too though. image

The cards were surprisingly mostly centered. Especially the Broncos Team card w/Elway on it. I pulled two Elway cards in the pack with the Team and the regular issue. Too bad the regular issue has a corner ding. Here are the scans....

    image

The rest of the pack goes like this....

    John Elway (corner ding)
    James Lofton
    Broncos Team Card
    Jimmie Williams
    Lionel James
    Jimmy Cefalo (spider creases)
    Chargers Team Card (spider crease)
    Dwaine Board (corner ding)
    Leonard Thompson (dents)
    Marcus Allen Sticker
NFC Punting Leaders card (corner ding)
    David Hughes
RC Thielemann (print dot & corner ding)
    Ron Jaworski (corner ding)
    Mark Haynes (corner ding)
    Mark Lee (corner ding)

....as you can see, aside from a couple of centering issues, there were many 'regular' issues for the '85 cards. It's a common thing and what makes this set such a challenge to build in PSA 9 or better. Good luck to the rest of you!

Got home tonight and busted my pack...Wizard of Oz sticker to start off...not bad. then the rest:

    Kellen Winslow
    Donnie Shell
    Earnest Jackson
    Derrick Ramsey
    Billy Ray Smith
    Danny White
    Jackie Slater
    Matt Millen
    Carl Banks
    Henry Marshall
    AJ Duhe
    Falcons play card
    Louis Lipps
    Gill Byrd
    Tony Nathan
Looking at these cards brought back lots of memories about how tough they are to find in top condition. The slightest nick shows the white underneath and seems like every slight imperfection is magnified by the black background.....

Had some cards with surface wrinkles as well.
No big stars in my pack, but I really like the little action shot cards of George Rogers and Marcus Allen.

Also of interest is this receiving leaders cards which is about as off-centered on the back as a card can get! :

I am guilty of being one of the the late pack result reporters. Lots of stuff happening on the home front. Here are my results from my 86 pack:

    Chris Collinsworth, 1000 Yard Club,
    Greg Bell, Bills,
    Dwight Stephenson, Dolphins,
    Phil McConkey, Giants,
    Steve Nelson, Patriots,
    Morten Anderson, Saints,
    Bruce Smith, Bills,
    Sammy Winder, Broncos,
    James Brooks, Bengals,
    Mike Merriweather, Steelers,
    Checklist 1-132,
    Mike Webster, Steelers,
    Jay Hilgenberg, Bears,
    1985 Interception Leaders,
    Richard Dent, Bears,
    Leonard Marshall, Giants,
    Warren Moon, Oilers,
    Joe Montana, 49ers, image

The 1985 Pack was a total loss. The gum damaged the three cards closest to it. The rest of the cards all have a "S" wave to them. Not one flat card in the pack. BUT, on the bright side, there were no star cards in the pack.
    Here are the contents:

    Bill Kenney, Chiefs,
    Tony Eason, Patriots,
    Cliff Branch, Raiders,
    Patriots Team card,
    Rod Martin, Raiders,
    Harry Carson, Giants,
    Mike Horan, Eagles,
    Bill Maas, Chiefs,
    Ken Jenkins, Lions,
    Wendell Tyler, 49ers,
    Bobby Humphrey, Jets,
    Gary Hogeboom, Cowboys,
    Bucky Scribner, Packers,
    Bobby Duckworth, Chargers,
    James Brooks, Bengals
The Eric Dickerson sticker was the only undamaged item in the pack.

All in all I was happy with the condition of the cards in my '85 pack -- especially after seeing ArnyVee's results! I've scanned the two stickers and two of the better cards. Munchak is a Hall of Famer, so it may be the leader of the pack. An itemized list of the cards and a partial scan:

192 sticker Mike Quick (Eagles WR)
69 sticker Dan Marino (Dolphins QB)

    167 Gerald Carter (Buccaneers WR)
    253 Mike Munchak (Oilers G)
    368 Rolf Benirschke (Chargers K)
    194 1984 Rushing Ldrs - E. Jackson & E. Dickerson (2,105 yards!)
    29 Willie Gault (Bears WR)
    323 Tony Eason (Patriots QB)
262 Curtis Dickey (Colts RB; gum stain)
395 CL 133-264 (maybe the highest grade card in the pack front and back!)
    201 Joe Ferguson (Bills QB)
    370 Wes Chandler (Chargers WR)
    384 Kenny Easley (Seahawks S)
    97 Darrin Nelson (Vikings RB)
    350 Wesley Walker (Jets WR)
    284 Chris Bahr (Raiders K)
348 Pat Ryan (Jets QB; wax stain)

That is Munchack's rookie card in addition to him being an HOFer.

It is?! Cool! I saw on the back that he was drafted in '82 by the Oilers, so I presupposed he had had a card out before this. Thanks for the update, zef!
