I was teetering on the 34-S Peace dollar (PCGS MS65) at Heritage. But I have a lot of other material I am following and that gives me 6000 more bucks for the FUN bourse.
I could have bought a few VAM's.... but I tend not to buy them if they are not in the top 50 or very high end.... If someone wants a top 50 Peace $ VAM in MS just IM me and I'll point you to one or two ending tonight....
Just bought a set of six CompuGrade Morgans . . . gotta love those oddball slabs. That will nearly or possibly complete my MS-63.X set (all 10 grades from MS-63.0 to MS-63.9 with a few duplicates).

Got two 1883 VAM-10 Morgans (NGC 63DPL and ANACS AU), an 1888 VAM-12 or 12A (PCGS 63), an 1882-O PCGS 64 (clashed and will VAM later), a 1926 VAM-2 (ANACS 64) that I bet is misattributed but what the heck. Also caught an 1883-O VAM-4 (ANACS 63) on eBay as a trading piece and a convenient one to use the $5 coupon on.
I bid on my first Teletrade auction last night and ended up with an 1868 Nickel in a PCGS 64 holder. I must admit it was exciting but a bit anticlimatic. I put in my bid at 8PM and won without any further bids. Which leads me to all kinds of 2nd guessing. Did others not bid b/c the coin was undesriable despite the holder (not my series, filling a hole in my type collection). Did others not bid b/c they were after the really high end stuff? Are the price guides really that far out of whack that the apparent bargin isn't so much of a bargin (subject of recent post - I realize). Or does some of the cheaper stuff get overlooked on Teletrade, making it the ideal forum for someone of my collecting budget/interest.
Ordered over $2 k worth of US Mint product last night. Won't have to worry about overgraded slabs with this stuff. I'll have 30 days to return, if I change my mind. If I end up selling the stuff, I'll probably make money.
<< <i>I'm laying low.....I just learned of this "Christmas" thing where you're required to buy presents for family and friends. Dang coin budget is gone.

Remember it's not how you pick your nose that matters, it's where you put the boogers.
Never have and never will I don't think so anyway. We have about a coin show a week around here. Numerous stores and shops that deal with coins and at one flea market there are at least 6 coin dealers. With all that compition, very reasonable prices. On the net you really don't know what your getting. I want to see the thing in my hands before I buy.
After paying for my retirment party and everything else involved with that and now being unenployed I have been banned from the internet I believe that Christmas thing is coming up soon also so guess I will just lay low for now. But my better half forgot about Baltamore next week so maybe I will break into my secret stash and buy myself a Christmas present

ad4400, I wouldn't have second thoughts on that. I often see lots go up to the bid before the usual recent price on Teletrade a few hours before the close and sit until the end. You are probably good up to the last bid increment anyway. Yeah, there are shills here and there probably, but I think your price was good for that coin.
I'd suggest examining the date for repunching. There are quite a few rare varieties for that date. I collected them myself about 15 years ago but consigned them to Heritage for the FUN sales. Probably would have done better myself on eBay with them and my other varieties since they are not apparently describing their rarities and promoting the pop 1 coins like I would. I certainly will think harder before I consign my silver dollars some day.
Finally won an 1889CC Morgan, in a PCGS F12 holder..nice coin filling a long empty hole in my CC collection. Have only the 79CCs and the 92CC to complete my CC dollar set........yahoo!!!..even got to use the ebay coupons
