Specifically, how long before you start getting that itch (twitch, tick, jimmy leg, whatever you want to call it)?

The money part is the problem - it isn't always there
The time between purchases is usually related to the dollar amount of the previous purchase, and what I am looking for. Anywhere from a few weeks to a few months would be my range.

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

My itch is lower than yours on the map, I was so desperate that I bought a Mexican error.

Currently, I have been going weeks or even 2 months. If there is nothing worthwhile to buy, I don't buy. There is no itch to scratch.
I'd rather go that way than be kicking my keister a few months later for getting a mercy purchase that I will undoubtedly learn to dislike and then sell for a loss. Buy the right coin once and hang on to it.
Eliminate the pointless churning by avoiding all the mercy and reckless inbetween purchases. If it doesn't impress you on day one, it likely never will.

Realistically, as long as it takes to find the next one that I just "must have"!!! That could be days, weeks, months, well... hopefully not to many months
