<< <i>I think this bear qualifies. It is by Jamie Franki, the artist who drew the Bison nickel. This one was almost picked to be the nickel this year instead of the Bison.
That is an AWSOME coin! I really like the bear on that one.

<< <i>They don't get tougher than these fellows.
You got that RIGHT partner. Lee was tough but "Stonewall was simply a "bad ass"!!! He was revered by his men more than any other Confederate officer. The irony of his life was how he met his demise. Accidental "friendly Fire" blasted his arm but he was expected to recover. However he took a turn for the worse and died on a Sunday. He cherished his Sundays (as he did lemons) and was quoted as saying, "if I must leave this earth, it is only appropriate that I leave it on a Sunday". His final spoken words were, "Let us cross the river together and rest beneath the trees."
On a side note, we named our son Will with his middle name being "Jackson". The day he was born I bought him an original Carte de visite photograph of Stonewall Jackson and it hangs in his room.
My respect and admiration for Thomas Jonathon "Stonewall" Jackson is one of the reasons why I currently have two Stone Mt's in PCGS MS67.

I love the coins. What are they?
Thanks for sharing.
<< <i>Weiss,
I love the coins. What are they? >>
Thanks! The one on the left is a siglos, about 5 grams, made of silver, from Lydia, reign of Croesus, 565-546 BC.
The coin on the right is also from Lydia, but from the king(s) immediately before Croesus (probably his father, Alyattes). 610-565 BC, made of electrum (the natural alloy of silver & gold) 4.74 grams.
The electrum coin is considered by many to be the first coin ever made. But there are others who believe the silver coin is actually the first true coin, since (unlike the electrum coin) it was a fractional series, was part of a ratio of gold to silver, and for a few other reasons.
I bought them both just to be sure
