These coins have been no touched since 1980.
They were inherited and been in lock box since then.
Let me know what you think, these are scans

They look nice... but am I the only one who thinks the bust half is cleaned?

Probably is, but that's okay with me -- I have a toned circ. type set. A light cleaning isn't abnormal for those coins.

Great post Smittys. Beautiful St. Mountain.

Anyways, about the jist of the posts on this thread.

I am all for people posting coins that they own but I think this thread kind of goes overboard on the "please sell me that coin" meter.

Would it be possible if people could refrain from acting like it's the BST forum and send requests for coins via PM?

    Just my opinion.

I think this is why people don't want coins for sale posted on the US Coin forum.

but am I the only one who thinks the bust half is cleaned?

No, you're not the only one- the bust half was cleaned before being put into the album- a shame from my point of view, but I bet there would be no shortage of people who would pay a strong price for it! Overall, I think the toning on all the coins looks pretty sharp.....

Why is it that everything about these coins looks natural except the violet blue and lime green "swirls," intrusions, and crescents of color? it's as if those two colors lay over all the rest, and everything else looks great. Odd effect. And those two colors appear next to each other with no zone of transition. Compare with the sepctral conditions outlined in this thread: Some myths and misunderstanding about toning. Maybe it's only me, but things don't seem quite right for an otherwise great looking bunch of coins.

I am not qualified to judge whether or not the coins are NT or not from those photos, I've only been collecting since the 50's. image All I can say is that I would like them in my collection. This is not an offer to buy, but I find nothing out of line with someone posting here "how much", for like another poster said its a very high complement. Folks on here buy and sell to each other constantly and some of those sales are a result of posts here. Isn't this one of the things that makes the coin collecting world here a nice venue?

    Hoot,
You are right some of the rainbow is from the plastic covering refacted
in the scanner. To the left on the 1839 Seated, left top of Stone mountain.
But basicly what else you see is what's there.
You have a great eye. I'm gonna work on new pics, without the plastic
holding them in. I was just so excited about the toning on these I
    didn't proof the pics.

That Stone Mountain will bring some money, if you're planning on selling it.
