Winner announced of Barber Dime Freebie to be awarded to you for Most Creative Ebay coin descriptio
I picked up two Barber dimes today on a combination purchase which although ungraded look to me to be between F and EF. I don't need them both so the 1913 one is yours if your entry is selected as the most creative ebay description to accompany a hypothetical ebay ad. Rules are simple. You choose the coin to describe but the description should include the following #1. Must mention something about your grandfather. #2. Must mention something about the coin being found in an obscure location (for example attic trunk). #3. Must overstate obvious grade of coin. #4. Descriptions of toning and photos optional.
Alternatively if you wish to link to an actual ebay ad that appears to meet the criteria of being "most creative" those submissions need only comply with rule #3. Winner to be announced sometime this weekend.
Winners announced in final post.

You are bidding on a 1961 Proof Franklin Half Dollar. This coin has been in the family for ages. It belonged to my grandfather who snuck it out of the Philly mint when he worked there. On the way home he was struck by lightning for his evil deed. We found the coin tucked between his butt cheeks during the autopsy. The coin has had an eternal flame glowing on it for over 40 years. This ultra rare coin will be shipped to you in an asbestos box and will be extinguished so it can be shipped USPS. It should start glowing as soon as it is unwrapped, but if it doesn't maybe it's because of the asbestos. Good Luck!

After countless years of kissing my grandfather's ass, attending to his every need, wiping the spittle from his chin and changing his bedpan, he croaks, leaves the house in the Hamptons to my sister, the Mercedes to my brother and the cash to my cousin.
Me? All I got was this crappy, but very shiny and pretty dime, that was found hidden in the breast shaped soap-on-a-rope hanging in his shower.

For Sale: 1965 US quarter, Good condition, !!!!a rarity for sale in this grade!!!! Ends 11am July 11
My grandfather, an avid collector of valuable US coins, died recently. Although my greedy relatives took most of his collection, grandpa had hidden this coin in his golf bag, mixed in with some common coins. It is all I have left of him, so I'm selling it on ebay to raise money to bury him. In my opinion, the coin is circulated, an assesment several area dealers quite readily agreed with. I've attached some pictures below, please examine them carefully before bidding. There is some copper colored toning around the sides of the coin, but not on the front or back.
About this coin: This is the FIRST YEAR ISSUE of the clad quarters. In grandpa's day, you used to be able to get whole rolls of these at the bank, but now its hard to find a dealer who has even one of these coins in this grade on display.
If you have any questions or want further pictures, email me.
Please note: I will be gone until July 12 and will be unable to answer emails before then.
{At this point I would include the 'cannot find image' image}
I hope you don't mind if I share a little about the amazing history of this coin. If you would rather not read this just skip to the last paragraph. My grandfather was the first in his family to be born in the USA and at age 16 he went to work in the US Steel plant in Pittsburgh, PA to help support his family. Just a few months after taking the job, a ladle spilled some of the slag and a piece of it blinded my grandfather's right eye. While recuperating in the hospital, Andrew Carnegie himself (the president of US Steel in those days) stopped by and expressed his sorrow over the accident. He gave my grandfather this nickel and told him if he kept it, it would be valuable in years to come.
How do I know this? My grandfather told me the story many times, but would never show me the nickel. He said after he was gone, my brother could have his autographed Honus Wagner baseball card, and I could have the Andrew Carnegie nickel. When my grandfather went to heaven, my brother and I were cleaning out his house and we found a small burlap bag taped to the back of a dresser drawer. Inside the bag were the handful of things my grandfather treasured - a pin from the Masonic Lodge, the Honus Wagner card, and an 1883 nickel. There it was!
My brother sold the Honus Wagner card for a considerable amount, and used that money to hire a lawyer to contest my grandfather's will. Now I have no choice but to part with this heirloom so I can defend my interests.
Honestly, I do not know much about coins. While I believe this coin is a PQ MS67 FS-013.2 with a 45-degree rotated reverse, remarkably monster toned in shades of ash, charcoal and slate, I admit I am not an expert. Please judge for yourself from the photos.
New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.
It is the will of Allah that I offer this rare 1804 Bust Dollar which was struck on a Barber Dime planchet and rotated 3.2655 degrees. Rumor has it that this coin was originally purchased by King Farouk. My grandfather implied that the 1933 Double Eagle was thrown in to sweeten the deal on King Farouk's purchase of this coin.
It is believed that this rare gem -- allegedly cracked out of an ACG PF 67 holder -- was originally discovered by Hermann Göering on the right wing of his fighter plane at the end of World War I. The mottled, bodily-fluid colored toning is much coveted by advance type coin specialists these days, and is expected to bring strong bids.

When Grandpa died Sis' and I tore up his place looking for valuables. Fortunately for me, she was up in the attic while I was going thru Gramps porn collection when I found an envelope stuck between the pages of Big Butt Mama's. Because of the shape, I thought it was an old condom that had hardened over the years, so I was a little hesitant to open it at first, so I stuck it in my pocket and went to make sure Sis' wasn't getting anything good out of the attic.
When I got home I opened it up and couldn't beleive my eyes. A beautifuly MONSTER RAINBOW toned PERFECT Morgan Silver Dollar. The strike on this coin was amazing. It is flawless! and just as nice as the day it was minted. I would grade it MS70+ (or higher).
But the colors on this coin are what this coin is all about. I don't have a photo because I don't own a camera, but if you can imagine a rainbow in the sky the coin looks just like it. The ink in gramp's magazine's must have reacted with the coin over the years. This is ORIGINAL PORN TONING.
This is a NO RESERVE auction so bid early and high so you dont' miss out. S/H $25 - Payment by Bank Wire to Yugoslavia only (I'm on vacation but have the coin with me so I'll mail it as soon as I receive your payment).

1930 P Standing Liberty Quarter PCGS AU58
Due to financial hardship I'm forced to auction a very special coin. This is a beautiful 1930 Standing Lib Quarter that has a very
personal history within my family. I have to tell you this story as I want the high bidder to really appreciate the piece and cherish it as I
have.
My grandmother died in 1918, 3 years after my dad, the youngest of 5, was born. A dark secret remained buried with grandma until the
day my grandfather decided to move to a senior citizen complex. We were helping him clear out the basement of the home he &
grandma bought together in 1915. As a family member went around the rafters with a shop-vac, a piece of paper suddenly got sucked
onto the nozzle. The paper was tucked way up on top of the old stone foundation between the timber. A further check revealed an old
tin box with more papers. As grandpa and the rest of the family gathered around the table to see what was discovered, it was immediately
apparent that they were letters.
The family was shocked. The curiosity that had come over my grandpa had now changed to horror. They were love letters. Written to my
grandmother from the car salesman that sold them their Model A Ford. From reading the letters it was obvious that grandma carried on
a very steamy relationship. He was beside himself with embarrassment, sadness, anger, and just about every other emotion. The
family tried to give comfort but to no avail. Over the next several months the emotions balled up into solely anger. It consumed grandpa.
One night he was watching the news & DNA testing was mentioned in one of the stories. An idea came upon him that maybe his children
really were not his! He now wanted DNA tests performed on my dad & his siblings. The family tried hard to talk him out of it because we
all felt it didn't matter. All of us except for Aunt Gretchen who was a greedy spinster. She thought that maybe the salesmans family could
be rich and if she wasn't grandpas daughter, then maybe she could cash in somehow. Well, before the DNA tests could be done, grandpa
had a heart attack driving home from the liquor store and crashed into a propane storage facility. In the back seat was case of Bacardi 151.
There was no evidence of his body to be found.
As fate would have it, Aunt Gretchen learned that the car salesman indeed was a forerunner to a very wealthy family. After many family
fights & a long court proceeding, she had tracked down the burial site of the car salesman and had his body exhumed for the DNA tests.
A suprise was waiting within the coffin. You see, back in those days it was a custom to close the eyes of the dead with silver because if
they were to open, we would see our own death captured in their eyes- as the superstition lead many to believe. The salesmans wife
had placed two freshly minted 1930 SLQs on his eyes, kissed him a final time, and said her goodbyes. The coins that were placed on his
eyelids were removed and set aside by the mortician who took samples. After he was done the mortician offered the coins to my aunt,
thinking she was a family member, not realizing what the samples were collected for. She decided to keep one & leave the other in the
man's suit pocket as "a gift" from her. From that day on it was a very controversial heirloom that made its way to me. The other is buried,
again, with the salesman.
I had it graded and encapsulated by PCGS - THE premier grading service! It came back AU58, but I can't see why it is not MS69 FH!
It appears perfect with dark iris blue toning in a weird "fuzzy" elliptical pattern on the reverse. This coin has so much eye appeal that it
just lashes out and looks back at you! I saw both of the coins & this was definitely the looker of the two. I can't see why anyone would
not want to stare at this coin all day long. The winning bidder will flip their lid when they see it! S&H $3.85 with insurance optional.
WOWZER!!!!!!! You're not going to beleive this, but I have the distinct privelage of offering for sale THE LAST UNACCOUNTED FOR 1913 LIBERTY NICKEL!!!!!!!!! My old grandad spent quite a bit of time on the road in his younger years, dodging the law down south as an active bootlegger. Evidentally he chanced upon a car wreck one evening and while the occupant lie unconscious behind the wheel, Grampa Hagar scooped up all the spare change scattered on the road, unknowingly grabbing this coin with all the rest!!!!
Well, at least that's what my Grandma told me he told her. I chanced upon it in an old footlocker when I was helping clean out their attic. The coin comes in it's own 2 by 2 plastic holder with Grampa's own handwritten notation taped on it!!!! It was made by some company called ACG cause those letters are pretty clear through all the dirt and dust that's accumulated on it just sitting around. I'm pleased to be able to start this auction at a low opening bid of $500,000 and would ask that the winning bidder please add $2.75 to help with shipping. Good Luck to all.

You are bidding on this beautiful, uncirculated and RED TONED 1923 Peace Dollar.
What makes it so special, you ask? This is the coin that killed my Grandfather!
Starting out at a young age, my Grandfather was an avid collector of coins for his entire life. While he may have had thousands of beautiful and rare pieces at the time of his death, there was only one that he tried to take to the grave with him!
THIS is the very same 1923 Silver Dollar that he swallowed on a fraternity dare back in 1923!
This coin sat uninterrupted and UNCIRCULATED for nearly 75 years while working its way through my grandfather's intestinal tract, eventually killing him when it produced a massive blockage in his colon, causing severe internal bleeding when it eventually burst on Thanksgiving Day, 1996.
The ensuing autopsy revealed a GORGEOUSLY TONED RED & BROWN 1923 Peace Dollar, the same one he had swallowed 73 years earlier!
Due to monetary constraints, I'm forced to offer this HISTORIC piece of my family history to the public, with NO RESERVE!!!!
editted again: Didn't realize mine was so close to KlectorKid's, unfortunately I didn't read all the submissions before I posted..

Ultra-rare and unsearched bags of Pennsylvania state quarters!!! Some are circulated and some aren't! Too many to photograph, but trust us... there's a lot!!!!!
These bags found in the exact location of a story my grandfather told me as a kid. Some have even found to have the designers initials on them, most likely V.D.B.!!!! This is a Dutch/German auction, so don't wait! I have lots of feedback for you to read, and it is pretty much good. Bid often and bid with confidence. Bid prices will start at $500 per bag, or $14.99 per quarter; whatever you want. Grandpa says there should be a reserve, but he also says that these newfangled automobiles are just a fad.
Up for your careful consideration is this beautiful 1955 Lincoln Cent Doubled Die graded MS61 BN by ANACS. Experts estimate that less than 30,000 examples of this coin were ever released into circulation! Truly a famous rarity and at $1,350, she can belong to you!
Short and sweet..

This coin was pressed over 200 years ago in the forges of the U.S. Mint. I am not a coin grader but I can tell that it is VERY nice, and mint-like. In fact, based on the opinions of others, this coin will probably grade higher than MS67. You can judge for yourself from the photo.
My grand daddy was just a little kid when this coin came out but he tells me that he remembers it very well when a coin like this was given to you as change at the 5 and dime store. He said they were everywhere when he was a kid but they are now EXTREMELY RARE. As he relates it, there JUST AREN'T anymore of these around! Imagine what a coin in this condition could be worth!
They aren't making any more of these beauties so you had better bid on this one!
Hurry! It won't last long!

I think it must be un circulated , because he got it in 1881 and never spent it , and the 1882 coins were not printed yet , and coins start to be circulated when the next year comes out . ( like those un circulated sets the government sells all year long ) Anyway , it looks brand new [ see scan } and grandapa kept it that way cause he always cleaned and polished the doorknobs and his knives with this brasso stuff i also found .
So to keep tradition and hand out coins to my kids , I am selling it to get more money so that i can buy a lots of un circulated coins from that TV show ' coin fault '
The red book says un circulated is $90 ( i snuck a free peek in a barnes and noble ) , but i am starting it at $100 on account it only had one owner the same estate !
TOS - cash or money orders only . none of that traceable paid-pal stuff on account of irs problems . S?H?I is $10 for fast mail .Pay in 7 days or deal is off . if you dont , others will buy because this coin is 100 years old and more .
Will leave positive feedback if you do to . p.s. all i need is one to get me back to ( 0 )
Good Look and thanks for bidding !
Don't make me get DNA testing to prove it!!!
