Andy Schectman says that the situation is resolving itself slowly and that premiums on 90% are starting to come back. China is still paying 12% arbitrage for silver, and above ground stocks are dwindling in the US.

Yes, they were buying the chase to 120, not any longer, sales are weak in shop for bullion, get an occasional buyer for a couple oz but mainly eagles if so. They do not want generic even discounted. 90% weak, a few people will buy a couple dollars face at times. Silver dollars, buyers want good deals, actually less than I can get shipping to wholesalers for.

I send 3 boxes a week to pinehurst coins with silver bullion, and some gold as well. They pay about as good as anybody, and I can pay a guy to drive it there in an hour.

Oh by the way, Ive watched vermillion enterprises on youtube, never been to his shop, but I can tell you he is a straight shooter, overly fair and does big business, If I were closer, I would give him plenty business myself.

Speaking of Brian Vermillion, he said in his update today that a significant amount of 90% constitutional is being shipped to Europe to be burned.

Why would it have to go to Europe to get melted??

    No local capacity, maybe

IN THE UNITED STATES? I haven't heard anything about melters backed up like in Jan/Feb?

Refiners here still don't want the garbage. They got .999 coming out their ears. THKS!

What do you sell the garbage at? Happy to buy cheap garbage!

Last physical I sold was at $108. Haven't been dealing with physical gutter since. Plenty of buys and sells on the paper side though, and then of course always dealing with real precious metals, i.e. the physical Au. THKS!

He's almost always tied that thought together with comments about how much "main street" is out there struggling in mass and the number one reason for the constant dumpage. That with a real reputation for paying very fair and not turning away material has lead to Vermillion being a prime destination for his local market and very much beyond..

He's sending 90% junk out to be burned on the regular. So are many he talks to. One day that premium is gonna come roaring back.

    COPPER is gutter !

The reduction in refining 90% silver coins is driven by a massive liquidity and processing bottleneck caused by record public selling, high refining costs, and refiner prioritization of cleaner .999 fine silver.

Sure, I walked into a LCS on 1/29/2026 with rolls of ASEs and walked out with $108 an ounce. If I remember correctly spot was somewhere around $112 at the exact time of transaction. Pretty sad receiving around $4 under spot for ASEs but as it turns out it was a good move. I believe within the next few days the crash started, and I was thinking man that poor guy lol. I later learned he had immediately locked in his sell price to an online broker minutes after I left his shop. I sold quite a bit in the mid $90's as well but $108 ended up being my tops for physical. RGDS!

I’d TTT my “buy day Friday” thread , but think it’s a waste of time to promote the idea of catching a falling knife.
Even so, I’m a buyer , because I’m a believer. It doesn’t fall in and out of favor, for me.

You previously stated regarding silver: "nobody wants the garbage".

The shop owner likely obtained "spot" ($112), if not more, immediately after you sold it.
So why didn't you sell it to the "online broker" ?

I sold 14 libertads for $110 each to a private party for a private party...days before the silver slide.
I still talk with both parties, the buyer still likes his silver libertads and the seller just shakes his head and wonders how they managed to time the market.

If you are buying precious metals now, you are rescuing dollars from their eventual demise. If you are selling precious metals now, you are generating some liquidity for another purpose. Everything else is just noise.

Well maybe because I am not a dealer and who wants the hassle of packaging, shipping, theft etc? Certainly not me. If I remember correctly the glut was so bad at that time most brokers were spot -$1 on ASEs. It was only a few hundred ounces. Shipping/insurance not to mention time would have eaten any extra. Plus, I am a fan of instant cash personally. THKS!

I'll keep accumulating silver, little by little. Time is on my side - I have over 30 years until retirement.
My strategy always was to buy whole collections, sell the numismatic stuff I don't need and keep the profits or a little bit more than that in silver.
Same for gold. I'm using mostly my unexpected income to buy it. A bonus from work, the change from metal detecting, the cash from selling old books at the flea market, the cans and bottles I collect on my way to work....

And despite silver being more than half it’s all time high and dropping, it is still $10 more than it was last year , at this time
$20 higher than five years ago
$35 more than it was just a decade ago

Fine, but that doesn't make an investment case for silver. If it goes down 30% from these levels and takes until 2050 to eclipse the $115 record high...it'll be a loser investment compared to bonds yielding 5.25% let alone stocks.

the short term case for a silver investment is much different than the long term case for a silver investment. Those who listened to your above investment advice in 2025 were soon wishing that they hadn't. A successful "long term" holding of silver is not defined by the time it is held, it is determined by selling when it drops 15% from an all time high.

I got some AA- at 6.59% and AAA at 6.40% a few weeks ago. Would love to snag some 7s.

lol, great analysis of the fundamentals. Bonds? lol. Stocks? There's so many black swans in the water for stocks & bonds that I can't even keep track of them. lol. Keep touting paper, and be sure to put your money where your mouth is.

BTW.........how's your stocks & bonds compared to gold & silver for the last 25 years? Using your methodology, if the stock market goes down 30% from these levels and takes until 2050 to eclipse the record highs.........it'll be an even bigger loser compared to gold & silver which have no yield at all.

Corporate debt is only one of the problems. When the bond market fails - and it will - you won't have time to bail out. The HFTs will beat you to it. You have too much confidence in the ability of the Fed to control interest rates. Keep picking up those pennies in front of the steam roller - the market will have the last say.

Your timing was pretty good in selling your 100 oz. bar. Have you bought it back yet? You probably should, along with a few more.

Why would i want to "bail out"?

The Fed is damned if they do, and damned if they don't. Besides that, the Fed has no good reason for its existence. Interest rate manipulation and money creation are not good reasons.

Yeah, the economic cycles were so much better before 1913. Didnt some banker dude practically bail out the Govt in the 1890s?

The World's Greatest Scam that goes unnoticed:

In 1913 Congress creates Federal Reserve Bank (third central bank for the US).
-This bank creates fake money out of thin air.
-FED uses this new money to purchase government bonds and finance government borrowing.
-Government debt forms the largest asset on the Fed’s balance sheet. What supports that debt? The government’s power to tax its citizens.
-Government uses violence and threats of violence to extract taxes from average citizens to pay the interest and service the debt owed to the central bank, which created the money it loaned to the government out of thin air.

It's no coincidence that the federal income tax became law months before Congress created the FED. The connection matters.

Yes, the economy WAS better off prior to 1913.
Talking about "economic cycles", it is important to mention the Federal Reserve Bank's actions which led to the GREAT DEPRESSION and WW2.

FED policy destabilizes the economy, war helps solve the problem. War also continues to enrich those who benefited from the destabilized economy. Win-win for the select few. Think again if you don't believe your economic destiny is greatly determined by others.
