I'll admit, I'm a little angry about the Vikings letting JJ go. I don't think 10 games is enough of a sample size to just give up on the guy. I know with this defense we're in a "Win it now" scenario but who cares if he sits at #3 on the depth chart? I would concede if we got something great in return but that didn't even happen.

We have failed again with a long term solution at the QB position.

They did McCarthy a favor, as KOC’s offense is a hot mess and despite the BS spewed at the pressers yesterday by the GM and HC.

Kyler Murray is too small and terrible.

Brian Flores’ scheme is bailing them out because they’re not a quality team that will do anything in the playoffs, if they don’t collapse prior.

    Enjoy your collection!

For what it's worth on McCarthy - I formed my opinion solely on what I heard about him from people familiar with the organization. I heard stuff like.. "They have no faith in the kid." and "He's stupid - incapable of learning the offense." and "He's lost the team's confidence." and that they were "moving away from him". If they keep losing players it's going to be a long 2026 though regardless and keeping McCarthy on the roster was just going to turn that 5th Rd. into a nothing-with-fries after a few more weeks.

Well, it took less than three years for JJ McMarthy to move from a 10th overall pick in 2024 to a 5th rounder in 2027, thus justifying the harsh analysis of the PCGS Sports Forum. Combined with what's going on with Harbaugh and the Chargers it looks like for both men the pinnacle of their carreers was that Natty at Michigan.

Considering what's going on with the Vikings how much longer before Justin Jefferson wants out??

Shame on the Vikings for even drafting McCarthy in the first place, the sample size was 15 games or something on a run heavy big team against marginal opponents for 75% of the competition

I think they based it on a few big third down situations where he threw a very good completion percentage with very few mistakes

The Vikings are maybe a little more competent with their QB philosophy than the Browns

Caleb Williams did nothing, said nothing, wore shades, threw shade, strutted into the locker room postgame wearing a bathrobe and nodded approval to his teammates including a 3rd string QB who owned the Eagles last night. Da Bears are officially surreal. Being a fan of this team requires a lot of thought. Being a fan of anything Chicago these days is an invitation to therapy.

You and so many others. We've had this discussion before about players behavior and perhaps we don't always agree, but we have good intentions. Each player is going to exhibit their own behavior because of their own beliefs. The NFL has little if any control over it other than to scrap financial penalties from their paychecks. Caleb probably won't get fined for his behavior, but Luther Burden might take a hit for his exuberant TD celebration.

So you guys are looking for something non human in a QB? Can’t show pain or frustration after pulling a hammy, has to obey your strict moral and patriotic standards when on the sidelines. I’ll check with China and see if that robot who ran into a wall after breaking Bolts 100 meter record is fixed yet.

i take no pleasure in making this post, but it's a must

i'm not going to regurgitate my familiarity with Murray........everyone knows by now. i've seen almost every snap he's played in the NFL. my optimism was thru the roof when was in AZ. there was one season 4-5 years ago when Arizona started out 8-0 and he was in the MVP conversation. they folded in the 2nd half of that season, so did he, and it has been an avalanche ever since. it started getting really ugly at the end of his tenure in Arizona. bad play, tore his ACL, and when he returned it was not pretty. so ugly that a crap team decided to pay his exorbitant salary while he played for someone else.

my optimism wasn't as high when he went to Minny, but it was there. perhaps cautious optimism is a better way to describe it. new team, new scheme, new HC with a successful track record of whispering to quarterbacks, loads of ancillary talent on that side of the ball..........that was enough to at least keep me on the fence. i wanted to see what this change would bring. well, it took 11 offensive snaps in the Green Bay game for me to see things clearly. no change whatsoever. i said as much in a post after that game. it was a carbon copy of what things looked like during his dark days in Arizona.

he has the tools. he has the arm. he has the accuracy. even after destroying his ACL, he still has speed, quickness and agility. he just isn't freaking tall enough. as a result, nothing looks seamless after he takes the snap. when the ball doesn't leave his hand within 3-4 seconds, the play starts to look very unnerving. it looks like a man who is unable to see, and he's trying desperately to apply his athleticism to keep the play alive until he can. he has so many passes batted down that would not be if the ball left the hand of a taller quarterback. that's why Arizona (and now Minnesota) dial up a lot of of quick, short, sleep-inducing passes for him. get the ball out quickly while his receivers are still in his field of vision. there is a ton of dinking and dunking with Kyler. if you want to see him air the ball out consistently, you're going to be disappointed. it just doesn't happen.......because it can't. and if anyone says to me, "yeah but what about the long TD toss to Addison?" watch that play closely. it wasn't a superior pass. he literally heaved up a prayer and Addison made a play on the ball.

and here's the sad thing. i 1,000% believe that the only thing preventing Minnesota from legitimately contending for a trip to the Super Bowl this year is 4-5 more inches in Kyler Murray height. Minnesota's defense is nasty. i said this a week or two ago, and i'll say it again: Brian Flores is a hell of a coach. that guy can schematically dial up destructiveness unlike any other DC in the league. i saw it in the 2nd half against Green Bay, i saw it against my team, and i saw it against the Bucs. the Vikings are legit on that side of the ball. if i was an owner of a team needing a new skipper, i'd hand Flores a blank check. unbelievable that someone hasn't handed him the reigns in 5 years.

if i was a Vikings fan, i'd be looking at our 3-0 record with the sickest feeling in my abdomen

The sad part about the Vikings is they probably could have what they have now with Darnold back there but like always the Vikings are always looking to create a problem at the QB position even when it's not there

@perkdog, the Browns always have a problem at QB and try to create a bigger problem. They almost always succeed. 😊

Keenum is from my old hometown. i knew much about him before he even went to U of H. rock solid guy, i know this for a fact. not surprisingly, that has carried over into his chosen profession. he was never going to be talented enough to be a long-term, successful starter in the NFL. but when you're experienced, highly professional, team-oriented, and an overall positive figure, there's a place for you. does last night surprise me? it does. but then i think to myself, why does it? dude has been doing this his entire career. it's why he's still around. consummate pro.

3 TDs, no turnovers, hadn't played a game in 3 years, 38 years old........and he thoroughly outplayed Jalen Hurts. so incredibly sick.

can you imagine the scene in Chicago if he was spotted in public with Pete Crow-Armstrong ?

I witnessed last night’s Soldier surprise, my mumbling mouth progressively more agape with each completed pass. Totally unexpected. I’ve felt from week to week like I’m watching an extreme amusement park roller coaster. 3 games. What’s next? 🎢 🤣

Well that didn't take long................ :D

"Giants To Release Odell Beckham Jr."
Odell Beckham Jr.'s return to the New York Giants has come to an abrupt end after just three games. Multiple sources report that the Giants are releasing the 33-year-old wide receiver due to his lack of impact on the field. Beckham, who was one of the last players to make the 53-man roster out of training camp, played only 20 snaps without recording a catch.

no, emotion is fine. some of my favorite QBs have been passionate (Brady and Marino) what i am saying is it is silly/soft to act like you got shot in the leg with a .300 Win Mag and literally get carted off the field with a towel over your head for a pulled hammy. dude needs to get a grip. it is super soft and terrible optics.

as far as the second topic. it is all about standards. I am not ashamed that i have what some apparently view as "strict moral and patriotic standards"

If i were a team owner, my employees would have expectations for their behavior when "on the clock" or they would no longer be employees. like it or not, when Williams is wearing that Bears uniform he is representing the name on the front of the jersey first, the name on the back second.

Getting anything for him was a win for the Vikings. It was just a terrible decision to draft a guy who spent his college career throwing short passes when he was even allowed to throw and just handing the ball off

At least they realized it instead of letting him ruin season after season wasting those WRs they have. Its a very good year to have a high pick and a strong group of QBs coming out of college. We will have to see how the injury impacts Moores status as he might have gotten Wally Pipped by Dylan who almost won the job before the season anyway and looked better than Moore when he came into the game

My theory on the Caleb Williams incident is I think one of three things happened

1- He was extremely frustrated with his play and Minnesota's game plan shutting him down all day, he had a chance to be a hero but wasn't believing in himself so he went down with an injury - safe bet to avoid "Choking" when the game was on the line

2-He went down with the injury and thought he hurt himself worse than he actually did,

3-He was actually in a lot of pain and wasn't shy about expressing it

Either way he will be back and I'm sure he will rebound, the kid is athletic and imo will be a top tier QB soon and I'm rooting for him, I couldn't care less how he dresses or whatever, I'm not hanging out with him

For his sideline decorum and national anthem thing that's entirely up to the Bears owner to make a big deal out of it or not, if he cares that much he should have put a provision in his players contracts on what he expects, or he may have verbally told the team that all he cares about is playing sound football and listening to the coaches, and the anthem sideline antics are a personal choice, who knows

Yes. Yes I have begun to indulge in the sports. Ballet and bird watching are good fun and all that, but these big husky men in their pretty colorful shirts and pants really appeal to me. When they throw the ball through the net and run around the pillows while shouting "GOAL!!!", it just warms my tender heart.

We are all allowed an opinion on behavior during the National Anthem, my personal opinion is I'm going to stand and take my hat off and place my hand over my heart, I will think it's disrespectful to do otherwise but I'm keeping that to myself

We don't know what people are thinking who chose to do otherwise, maybe they lost a kid or are disabled from some stupid money driven war or are being allowed to suffer without proper VA assistance, the dynamics of it do have variables

I will not openly judge or give someone a hard time for their position because if someone gave me a hard time for showing my personal respect to the flag or anthem I'd probably throw a punch before they were done giving me a hard time.

I think what’s lost on Craig is the competitive aspect of it. The combination of pulling a hammy, which I’ve done and saying there is minimal pain is just wrong, combined with the frustration of immediately realizing you will be missing games and the season just started.
Showing emotion there is natural for a competitor and saying he’s soft because of that is just ludicrous. As far as being carted off, is he supposed to limp off and possibly aggravate the injury even more?

I get the competitive aspect. why is it that after Mahomes shredded his knee he wasnt writhing in pain, crying and getting carted off the field? is williams more competitive than mahomes? I dont hardly think so.

the ugly compound fracture that Dak Prescott suffered a few years ago wasnt enough for him to be crying on the field either. i am sure that if he had been physically able to hobble off the field he would have.

even Aaron Rodgers, as big of a nutcase as he is just calmly waited for the trainer to come out and then hobbled off the field. knowing he just severed his achilles. is williams more competitive than Arod?

there are tons and tons of examples of very very serious injuries happening on the field and players not putting on a show like caleb did. it is so ridiculous and off putting that he has become a meme. the vast majority of fans realize how over the top his reaction was.

the guy is apparently soft. at least that is how he is portraying himself.

I don't believe that anywhere did i say there was "minimal pain" with william's pulled hamstring. You said that. I did say it is not a serious injury. his docs/training staff agree, considering that he is week to week.

the softness he showed was the extreme overreaction to a "not serious injury" considering the amount of ribbing he has taken over this reaction, it is the majority opinion.

The fact that you’re comparing and analyzing reactions to various injuries tells us all we need to know. You’re the expert. Next time I witness a car crash or just a little old lady crumpling in a crosswalk, I’ll think about how you’d react to it with the notion that you’ll brush it off as simply a minor incident. You reference internet memes and fan reaction as if it’s really meaningful. It’s people piling on. Please try to accept the real fact - YOU DON’T KNOW how another person feels their pain. Only your own.

I get that but it really doesnt apply to pro athletes. If you dont want to put your hand over your heart whatever but you can just stand there for a minute when youre getting paid millions to play a game.

There is actually minimal pain, ive done it several times worse than his. Its a stabbing pain if you try and run but its not something that throbs all night especially once a compression wrap or sleeve is put on it. People can still be fans of his and like his ability but the simple fact is at best hes a drama queen and most likely hes soft. Youre more sore from taking a big hit on a sack than you are from that. You just cant act like you need to go to the ICU then be listed week to week.

Dart actually messed his knee up and was trying to get the coaches to let him keep playing. The LSU QB was literally playing on one leg throwing off his back right heel because he couldnt even put pressure on his left leg and was hoping around the field to get around. You know if its a hammy or a knee. Again people can still be fans of him but theres just no defending how he acted from that pretty minor injury

I think this guy has the patent for tolerance. If he really just didn’t want to lose his job.

It’s funny how we have 2 internet doctors saying an athlete who has made it all the way to professional QB is soft. I would argue the fact that he is an NFL QB proves he isn’t soft.

Damn you’re soft basebal21. I pulled my hammy twice in 2 months playing softball and never had a compression sleeve or wrap or anything put on it. Just limped around until it got better. I wouldn’t have known what a compression sleeve was back then. And I do remember it hurting when trying to sleep so don’t tell me about there not being pain.
You’re soft if you ever had anything wrapped around a pulled hammy. Tough it out like a man.
