The Mint needs to make a 1.5-2oz UHR that is the same diameter as the original double eagles.

And they need to make it a few years ago when gold was under $2000/oz

Or at least do it now and sell it to me at the price that they would have charged when gold was under $2,000/toz.

Yes that would be awesome and I would be all over that. Although not if there is 300%+ premium, like with the Liberty Bells.

If they sold a 1.5 oz St Gaudens with a 300% markup when gold was under $2000, that would price it around $7000. I could live with that, today 😜

Goes on sale tomorrow. Still no price listed yet. Does anyone think that there is a secondary market for this?

The sad(?) thing is the price will probably go down next week. If any are still available. I have major FOMO, so I'll be ordering tomorrow!

I think it is likely that this will be orderable for quite some time.

    Assuming 15,000 struck

They sold 2667 to dealers, which is 18%.
I thought they were restricted to 10%, but maybe that is old news.

Oh well it's nice to be feeling so much pressure with this one, compared to the 1804 (which I ended up canceling...or they canceled it for me actually).

I doubt this will sell out, certainly not in the first hour so we grab one and not stress about it. Although hopefully no additional arbitrary order cancellation on this one too.

Is the dimension of this coin closer to 2009 ultra high relief or is it closer to 1907 high relief? I find the 2009 ultra high relief to be too small.

2009 was 27mm and this one will be 30.61mm. Still smaller than the OG which was 34mm

The 1907 was not .999 gold, thus its larger size to meet the "full oz of gold."

I’m not seeing or feeling a whole lot of excitement about this release. I’m passing. I don’t see this selling as many as the BOM4. I love the design but don’t feel the need to pay the Mint’s crazy premium this time. If you want one you should have zero trouble getting one today.

I thought for sure I would get this and had an alarm set on my phone, and had signed up for text message reminders, etc. But I just couldn't pull the trigger once I saw the 'in-hand' pictures above--that privy mark is so obnoxious.

Yeah. The privy mark. Not the fact that they readily available, are not going to sell out, and will not be worth more than what you pay for them. The privy mark. Yeah.

Well, that, and you can get a 2009 Ultra High Relief Double Eagle Gold Coin with Box & CoA for less than this.

I think there's plenty of reasons to not get this one (I'm not yet after getting BOM at being at my budget for modern coins, might get it later), but in the pictures above I feel the privy almost blends in and isn't noticeable without looking compared to the high relief devices.

Yeah....looks like I'm not getting this one either. As with the Semiquincentennial Half Dollar 2026 Rolls and Bags, getting the message "We're sorry, there was an issue processing your payment. Please check your information or try another form of payment" - all while my card shows 'processing' on the charges yet they get reversed and Paypal emails me saying that I've authorized a payment to the U.S. Mint. There are no issues with my payment methods.

I called the Mint on 9/11 about the half dollar issue and they said someone would review my account and get back to me. Called again today and got to a supervisor who said they couldn't do anything more since the account was in review.

Bought my first coin from the Mint in 1984 and never had any problems like this...wow.

that's crazy. JM Bullion has it for $5,079, but you also have to remember that this release includes a medal & lower mintage.

They were .96 oz of gold (or something like that). I think the BOM is thicker to support the high relief better

My exact same problem! After one month, the issue has been "escalated". Meantime, I have lost out on many items. Oh well. Enjoy your purchases !!!
