What coins do you own that you consider a pair?

Yes I know the thread title is probably atrocious 😆 but I think this is interesting. These can be coins that have some story to tie them together or just coins you think are matching in some neat way.
For me my pair would be these Morgan dollars. I bought them together, for the same price ($45 a piece), from the same junk Morgan pile. I sent both coins to PCGS and they both came back MS64. The coins are also similar in the sense that they both have jet-black edges.

Thanks for highlighting those two Trade Dollars, @lermish They are, indeed, a pair.
I purchased them both at the same time from the same seller on eBay. This was at the time when eBay was flooded with counterfeit Trade Dollars, scaring off collectors/bidders. These two were raw, but I guessed they were the real thing (and PCGS subsequently agreed) and I was able to get them at a ridiculously low price.
They are really great looking Trade Dollars from Carson City, and at times I regret selling them. But my consolation is that I know they went to a good home where they are appreciated.

The only two coins issued by Martin C. Harman in 1929 for the Island of Lundy - an Island that is off the coast of, and a part of, England. (There have been some modern restrikes struck), The denominations struck are 1/2 Puffin and 1 Puffin. Puffins are birds that lived on the island. The story of the island, its coins and stamps, are fascinating. The British Crown came down on Mr. Harman for issuing his own coins. The island is small and beautiful and the entire story is fascinating.
You must mean the edges because the rims look completely normal.

Okay, here's a pair with an odd twist.
Both were purchased at Auctions associated with the 2024 World Fair of Money ANA Show (although not the same auction).
Both are the same Die Marriage (although not the same Die State).
Both have known provenances from prominent BHNC club members (although not the same lineage or any of the same members that we know of).
Both are PCGS AU55 examples. Both have CAC stickers. And I consider both to be strong for their grades.
And while one cost considerably more, neither was cheap!!

Ken, if you’re “doing” 1839, don’t forget that there are five different heads of 1839 cent. The one that seems to hold me back is the Petite “Head of 1840”. I missed a real nice one (66RB/CAC, fiery orange) by a few bids, reluctant to go over $40k! 🤦🏻♂️
One day I will own all five, but I doubt anyone else will have as nice a Booby as you!

I have a pair of toned 1956 Proof Franklins. a Type 1 PF67 and a Type 2 PF67+.
