From the photos it does not appear to be very well struck. 1943 is an extremely common date so my feeling is that you should have waited for a much better struck example. Be very selective when purchasing common date material.

It is well struck the photo quality just wasn’t that good
Plus the luster on it is superb in-hand so it has that going for it too

The luster, sun, and fields look exceptional! I think that is a solid coin for MS65.

Right field near date appears to have PVC haze....

Certainly a possibility but it isn’t too detracting thankfully (if it were PVC)

Nice coin in a nice old holder. I’m not convinced there’s any PVC based on the photo. Enjoy!

Nice coin at a nice price!

I only paid $110 which considering the slab and grade, it really wasn’t too badl

Others probably have better records, but I recall late date walkers, along with common date Morgans, etc. slabbed in MS65 and up being priced quite a bit higher back around 1990 or so. Demand was high, and the supply of certified coins in gem was limited at the time. Of course prices collapsed as many mint state coins existed, even in roll quantities; they just hadn't been submitted for grading yet. Many more have since been graded, then throw in some gradeflation, and the pops of these coins are now quite substantial.
Of course I'm talking about the common dates; there are plenty of examples of the early dates that the prices of the early '90's look like bargains today!

That’s very interesting, I thought that was specific to the ‘80s!
