If there is nothing wrong with it in the opinion of the layperson examining returns in the warehouse, as opposed to a PCGS grader looking for 70s, returns are returned to inventory for resale.
Since they have already sold out, anything available for purchase from the Mint from this point forward will be someone else's return. And, if it is "Unavailable" on the website, they will not even offer you a replacement.

I am not a flipper and was not planning on sending the coin for grading but as I am paying good money I would like to receive a coin from the mint without such obvious problems. Honestly, if you're not a flipper and wasn't going to get it graded, and you like the coin and the medal, there is no reason not to keep them just because the dime is not perfect. Perfection is not what they are selling, and lack of perfection is not a flaw for a coin sitting in a capsule sitting in a box. It's actually exactly what you bought.
I promise you, someone else will grab it, and be perfectly happy with it. You, OTOH, could go pay several hundred dollars more for a perfect one, it's that's what you need to be happy. Or else live without a coin and a medal that you otherwise liked.

Yeah, a lot of the 2021 Morgans had similar issues on the rim (though relatively smaller on the larger coin).

I really don't mind...it's a small coin and that is hugely magnified to see it. My focus is really on the designs and fields...which look pretty amazing! I wasn't planning on grading this one anyway, but if I did, I imagine it would garner a 69 due to that rim.

I was fortunate enough to get one that didn’t have those flaws. I’m keeping it, and if it did have a flaw I would also keep it. I’m going to attempt the whole set this year because I like it. (I also suffer from the OCD of completing a collection of something i started)

But personally, if it did have the rim issue I would probably get one on backorder (as they have been available in the mornings), and then return the damaged one. Of course my backorder might end up being a prior return from someone else, or it might be a new one and have no issues. But at least I'd try to get a mint issue directly from the mint.

That's why I expect 69s and tell people who want 70s to buy them already slabbed. Especially for a limited sample, even if 80% of the coins are 70s, unless you have 10 coins coming, the statistics don't help. If you get a 69, you've got a 69. And even if you get 3 or 4, what does it cost to submit multiples trying to get a 70?

I guess I'm on the outside looking in on this issue. I ordered at noon on June 4 and received the confirmation email with confirmation number before any change in status to backorder happened yet have neither received the product nor another email update. My US Mint account also shows nothing in its order history, which would be odd except that when I have ordered from the US Mint previously it also showed nothing in the account history. So, I guess I'm waiting for a set (my credit card has not been dinged for payment yet) but am not thrilled with the lack of communication from the US Mint on something that does not state backordered for me.

If you have an order history, and this is not in it, you need to call them, because your order got dropped.

As far as being worth something……prices for the few on EBay took a jump when word started to get out.
it looks like this is "add to bag" again this morning with 181 units available if anyone wants to grab another one or missed it the first time.
If you have an order history, and this is not in it, you need to call them, because your order got dropped.
