    What do you mean holds a special spot? A special spot in your heart?

    My avatar coin was an anniversary present from my wife a few years ago. It completed my Proof Franklins set and is super nice for a 65.

    An XF Columbian 50c. Got it from my grandfather mid 60’s. Only coin I’ve owned that long.

    @Goob good snag!
    I think you got lucky. That looks like a long scratch on the obverse cameo.

    My key dates, error coins, varieties, and a few #1 registry sets are special. I wouldn't be able to sell the avatar coin, it's the best looking image of her.

    Thank you!! I almost didn't get this coin since there was a common date in a higher grade (maybe 63 or 64) that caught my eye but it seems I made the right call.
    It seems to not be a deep scuff or anything. Trust me, you're not the first to think that! :lol: (if that's what you were going at)

    @Goob I'm glad it just appears to be a scratch and is not.

    My 1919 Walkers, especially, the Denver coin. That coin is a freak of nature. It is my Grandpa’s birth year, so I can’t help but wonder, if he was watching over me and played a part in my ability to obtain it.

    Sometimes, it’s better to be LUCKY than good. 🍀 🍺👍

    I’ve posted it several times, in the past, so I don’t wish to be redundant and repetitive. But it can be seen, along with all of my Walkers, simply by clicking on the link to my registry set in my signature line. 😊

    I like this quartet of 1956 (my birth year) Proof Franklins (two Type 1's and two Type 2's; all of them made by me through raw submissions):

    Nice Vintage. I too was born that year. Good Franklins with Full Bell Lines. Lots of varieties I see. Great collection!

    I have 3 that fit the bill.

    CBHD's were the first series of coin (and truth be told the only) I fell head over heals in love with. Today I currently own one. This is it. It's the LM plate coin for the die marriage. It is fantastic in every way. Plus, I know in my heart that I only own it because my two mentors in CBHD's allowed me to win it in auction as a gesture of affection which makes it even more special to me ( @MrHalfDime , @Barndog ). In a perfect world I will never sell it,

    I bought this raw, slabbed it as a PCGS AU50, sold it to my lifelong friend who cracked it and put it in his Dansco 7070. When he unexpectedly passed away I reacquired it from his wife and had it re-slabbed (PCGS XF45, accurate grade). Then had it green beaned. I may relinquish this to one of his sons one day if they have an interest. If not, I will keep it as long as I breathe.

    I started this hobby many lifetimes ago in bullion and thinking it was insane to pay more than melt value for any coin. This coin is single-handedly responsible for sparking my fascination with numismatics. Several years ago I was lucky enough to acquire this fantastic example. It is today, and will be forever, the Crown of my collection (pun intended). If I ever am forced to sell this it will indeed be a sad day for me.

    One beautiful Crown for sure. I am envious..

    The bitterness of "Poor Quality" is remembered long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.
