I don’t normally buy raw coins, but I really really liked this one!

Is it worth sending in? Not really, but I thought I would pick it up anyway… Got it for $33.

What do you guys think?

And, what do you think the grade is?

    Nice looking circulated Lincoln Terry. Can’t go wrong for short money. Looks like an AU 53 to me.

    Very nice circulated example, congrats on your newp. I cannot discern any luster in the photos so that caps the grade at XF45 for me, I would not be surprised if the TPG's would call it AU53

    I would call it AU, and agree that it is prefect for an album. No need to get that coin certified in my mind. 1922-D cents can come remarkably well struck if you can find one from fresh dies.

    Very nice coin. I would guess AU. Match this coin and you have a great set.

    The CoinFacts price in EF-45 is $55. It is $100 in AU-55.

    I would be proud to have that as an album coin, but given those prices, it's not worth certifying.

    Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

    I thought about that, but the coin is so refreshingly original I would probably just leave it as is.

    Initially, I was at 45, but there is a small amount of luster, and 50 is right about where I am as well…
