Any idea what has happened to this Atocha? My first thought is bullet, but that can't be right.....right?

I don't know what happened to that one.
But I can tell that it is one that was struck by Dave Emslie of Prospector's Gold & Gems (PG&G), using dies that I engraved.
I did not ever utilize the patina and wire-brushing technique for antiquing.
When I struck and antiqued similar cobs, I used a patina and burnishing process that did not introduce fine brushing marks (hairlines).
Looks like a test partial puncture, like a partial drilling into surface Which I would suppose is to inspect interior metal of piece. Too bad, but does not show terribly & may possibly be slightly hidden once it paginates.
Love that Milled British (1830-1960) Well, just Love coins, period.
The HSN coins should be good for those of us that have large collections as it will bring in more buyers over time for the older stuff like this already released.

2k if I heard it right, to 10k mintage now. Or maybe it was 10k all along. Still overstruck on Unc 2026 (W) ASE $.
All 70's. All D mintmark.
Cool offer & I am still pondering it. Never gone down the HSN shopping rabbit hole so I am figuring that out too.
Anyone got theirs yet ?
Last night, he was on again, presenting this Dan Carr item. Covered all of the features again, but then added this:
This is planned to be one in a series of four....four different privy marks.
I did get this one. now I'll be watching for the others.

Hesitated buying this from HSN, but broke down because I had really hoped to be able to get the set of these, I love that Dan Carr produced what the USM didn't. The order wouldn't go through, said it 'couldn't be delivered to this address'. I called customer service and after nearly 45 minutes waiting the representative looked into it and told me it couldn't be shipped to CA, CO, or MN, don't understand why, VERY disappointing 🤔😐

The CSN/HSN programs do reach an entirely different (and larger) set of customers than I do through my own site.
Maybe some of them will look into other "Carr" items ?

Could it be related to state tax law? Not sure that those restrictions would still be a valid counter-measure for them, but just throwing that out there…
It sounds like they have bumped the mintage up to 5000 for the first HSN coin with only two more weeks of production. Then they shift to the second coin which will only be sold on one day on May 22nd. It does not sound like it is a silver eagle, but some other design (only my guess).
3rd clip said 10,000.
Video 1 & 2 had lower possible mintages.
Seems to be a moving target.
I have never followed a HSN offer before but now I reload it a few times a day since video one. All 4 videos are fresh, not altered, cut or expanded.
I do Love my Carr Art so it's been educational from a private commission purchaser's viewpoint.
I have always wondered why so many different ASE $ exist. There's like a couple dozen ASE $ private commission issues off top of my head.
The video states "Daniel did what the US Mint couldn't do", not sure what he's referring to. This looks similar to DC's product except for the privy and mintmark.
I nabbed one today with the 15% discount offer, $195-ish.
I live in Hawaii and had no problem with shipping other than HSN adding $2.00 to the limited free shipping period. Didn't explain why? A penalty for living in paradise(?)

1) The dual dated / privy marked / D mm ASEs are ANACS-only items, not ever being offered by HSM in PCGS holders.
2) PCGS will not holder Dan's products unless they are listed in one of the resources that PCGS lists for tokens and medals: https://www.pcgs.com/tokensandmedals (eg, like the Moonlight Mint 1964-D Peace dollar listed in the Krause publication on the list) So, you can't cross this dual dated / privy marked / D mm ASE from ANACS to PCGS even if you tried.

I was attracted to Daniel Carr products due to their scarcity. But now HSN talks of 2,000-10,000 mintages. Too many flooding the market. Hopefully it will attract a new, broader audience. I'll stick with the limited runs. Speaking of which, Denver coin show this weekend. Seems like a new coin appears on ebay right afterwards. Guess we'll see...Can't wait for the next tranche of DC coins-medals-tokens.
I'm with you @1776coins (and welcome!). Never bought any Carr 1000+ mintages. Never will. Only one experience with HSN was poor customer service but order was fulfilled eventually. Is this issue subject to consumer confusion with dual dates and proof/upcoming burnished Mint issues?
