With all the drivel and political mud slinging cra* in some threads this past week, and the repeats after repeats of similar cra* threads ... I use the term "cra*" loosely ...
I saw @MsMorrisine made a comment about how there was no Classic Coin theads recently.
Let's fix that cra*!

1926 (the age of the classics) or 1826 (the golden age of federal coins).
Since both of those years are not entirely common through all issues, let's say 1920's or 1820's only.
I'll kick it off with an 1826 Half Dollar, which I really like, and don't think is cra*!

This is my only coin from the 1820’s.
One of my very favorite coins in my collection is this 1926 DDO dime. Strong doubling on the R and the folds of Liberty's cap, with moderate doubling on the wing feathers.

Not the best image (are TV's ever anymore?), and mine is the O-101, but this one has a bit of a story.
I found this in a PCGS holder, which normally I would leave alone, but she seemed like she was labeled with the wrong grade (she was a P53). She was also a little bit whiter than I usually go after, and so I eventually decided I would crack it out, let her breathe for a while and put it in a kraft envelope.
About a year later I decided I would resubmit it with some other coins, and was surprised that she had picked up a blush of color in between. She came back as a 55, which I agreed with, and since I liked the way she looked even more (the year she spent out of the plastic had helped her I think), and felt confident in her surfaces, I decided she had a shot for a CAC sticker too.
I was rewarded with that as well. I figure I'm done playing games with her now, but she's a beauty and I'm glad she's still with me.

I think this commemorative certainly fits the theme of 100 years ago. Too bad They did such a poor job on the relief. Anyway, it's graded as MS65+.

Here's some very old images of my three 1926 Standing Lib's from my set of those. One of these days I have to reshoot all of them. They grade P58, P62 and P58 respectively, and all were purchased raw in the early aughts. Only the 26-S has been to CAC (so far) and it received a green sticker.
