Topps VS OPC baseball observations...

I'm sure it's not. I sent in an OPC card with a similar surface and I think it came back a 2.

I just sold two vintage OPC's in the last couple of days at roughly 3x what I paid for them last summer.

The question is is this something you should jump at now. Like unopened became massively expensive over a little period. Speaking of that the unopened niche hasn't caught up yet at all. OPC's are still running about half the price of regular Topps wax even though their pop numbers are much lower. Just going by numbers alone shows a sleeping giant

Not the only reason, but one factor for that is that the notoriously higher sugar content of the vintage OPC gum relative to the Topps gum means that if you were purchasing wax with intent to rip and look for gradable cards, your chances are significantly higher with a vintage OPC box that far more cards inside the packs have been destroyed over time due to the aging gum seepage.

1972 and 1980 OPC are very challenging sets because of this.
