Tonight there will be a new record for the highest priced sale of any O-Pee-Chee baseball card. Pictured above is the card, 1968 Nolan Ryan rookie PSA 8 which currently sits over $73k with still more time remaining. This is not my card. I believe Topps PSA 8 sell around $10k-$12k.

Some strong prices on a few 1978OPC PSA 10’s last night and recently. A Dawson sold for $1,250, Rice $1,500, Seaver $800 and Sutton $390.
that's the set i have i could have used a couple of upgrades, but those prices are pretty strong. I picked up the seaver about a year ago for $375.

sweet Nettles. I have several 7's but I could never find anything higher. Very nice, this is one of the players I collect that's kind of under the radar.

Thanks! Not sure what prompted me to buy OPC; now i really like them. I remember continuously watching out for those under the radar guys like Nettles, al Oliver, bobby bonds, and others. Maybe not quite HOF worthy but very admirable careers

does anyone know if the 83 OPC Gwynn sale at the end of January was legit? PSA 10 for $161k!!
Product research tool in the seller's hub has sale price @ $27k.
I could be wrong but they wouldn't post it there if it's a non-payer
well that is quite a difference! how does that happen logistically if it was an "auction" with only one bid, the winning bid? is a "winning" bidder allowed the opportunity to negotiate a lower price if they were the lone bidder?

I've gotten BO requests from sellers just for looking at or watching an item.
They might have had a starting bid of $161k then sent out BOs to lookers and watchers.
Ebay's completed sales can be WAY off due to BO's sent out en masse
83 OPC boxes seem to be taking off. 84s as well. I’ve never opened a box but can imagine it’s damn near impossible to get a high grade Gwynn, Sandberg or Mattingly.

Conundrum - Loving my unopened baseball card collection....but really like ripping too

agreed, the centering alone makes it exceedingly tough

I imagine 85 is taking off too? The Gooden and Puckett rookies are impossible too..

These are pretty difficult, I’ve subbed 20 or so with nothing higher than a 8.5.
That Munson whoa!

Two under graded Bonds:
I do not have a single high graded OPC in my collection but these two PSA 2's fit in very well for my '71 OPC set build:

No Mickey's? Come on Tom show us the 9's?
I never really hunted for Mantles but I do have this one…
Card saved from when I was a kid

I would love to find a perfectly centered Gooden for my raw collection. I see a couple of 9's but they are priced too high for me.

Just watched an Ozzie Smith 1979 OPC PSA 9 sell for $5600! 4SC sold this on a consignment and I’d imagine a new record!
They are tough. I ripped 50 boxes of 85 OPC and got one 9.
wow that sucks..
