Does the “Omaha” label bring much premium?

It didn’t in my case. I bought it for just under Greysheet retail on eBay.

I once collected Seated and Barber dime love tokens by host coin date.

Those are some awesome love tokens. I have an 1891 that I'll post along with that type.

On the serious side, while “knowledgeable” collectors want toned coins that demonstrate “originality”, I have found over the years that there’s a large minority of collectors that desire blast white silver coins, even from the 19th Century. How do I know this? From the spirited auction bidding on high grade blast white highly lustrous coins with a CAC sticker! Admittedly, not for everyone, but it’s desired by more collectors than one would think!

That’s a beauty. I for one happen to like my BU and proof coins (especially Gems like that) to be untoned- or only very lightly toned.

It is only on circulated stuff XF and under that I prefer them “crusty”, with contrasting grey toning (the “CircCam” look).

    @ lordmarcovan demurred:

From the looks of it, his was done by a more skilled artisan than my example was.

I think that your craftsman was better. On the second, the borders are stamped, as are the sun’s rays, and cross-hatching on the roof. He used a letter stencil, or the minims are punched, at least.

    Edited for clarity.
