The one 1883 No Cents that I owned I had given away to a friend born in 1983 along with the "With Cents" variety. I'd like to think this particular year is the most interesting for nickels since there's also the Racketeer and Shield nickels.

Ok, NOT related to Dansco 7070, but it IS Super Bowl Sunday. And this is coin related:
Have any of you seen the coin the NFL Officials will be using tonight for the official opening coin toss? It has a bust of Teddy Roosevelt on one side, and Nathan Hale on the other. Do you know why? Scroll down.

They look exactly like the designer envisioned they would.
They almost always have a deep strong strike, with great eye appeal.
In the higher grades of “Classic” coins, the proof coins are usually less expensive than their Mint State counterparts in the same high grade. In other words, for the same dollars, you can often get a higher grade in Proof than Mint State coins, which helps with Registry points for Dansco 7070.
Additionally, you can often get a CAM suffix for only a few dollars more than the straight grade proof that has no CAM suffix. This also helps with cost efficient registry points, as a CAM suffix typically provides the same points as a no suffix coin one full grade higher!

I think @winesteven’s #3 is precisely why our hosts should have a separate registry option for business strike only sets.
But that’s just me and I certainly can appreciate and enjoy other collectors’ proof coins.
Understood. They do that with many sets, like Barber Dimes. MyCollect typically offers many more sets than PCGS that are Business Strike Only, as well as sets, like PCGS, that are more inclusive, where coins can be a mix of Proof and Business Strikes.

Not my thread, but I’ll presume it’s OK to keep the train rolling here.
Today is Monday, February 9th……please post your Type 1 Buffalo Nickels
Mine was in some crazy contraption called an NGC Funbox when I bought it with a grade of “96”. It wore that holder for approximately 3 minutes after getting into my hands before it was cracked and sent to our hosts.
Now MS 66+ (CAC). Not our hosts best TV work imho as the obverse color is much more attractive in hand.
You “beat me to it” by a few minutes in stepping in for @lordmarcovan . Thank you.
There are two types of strikes for this 1913 Type 1 Buffalo : a Business Strike, and a Proof Strike (specifically the Matte Proof technique was used). I have one of each. As shown, for my Business Strike, the coin in hand has no toning, compared to the “Not So” True View.

It is Monday the 9th, and time for us to do the Buffalo Nickel Type 1 (1913).
Make sure you don’t post a Type 2 Buffalo yet! That’s tomorrow. It is only the 1913 Type 1 coins today.
Here’s the nicest T1 Buffalo I’ve had. It had a @crazyhounddog pedigree. I affectionately called it the “Jolly Green Giant”.
I shouldn’t have sold it. At the time, I think it was part of a misguided purge to limit myself to a “Box of 100”. That didn’t work out, thank goodness.
Here’s one that’s in my giveaway inventory. It’s part of a lot that also includes an AU-UNC 1883-NC nickel.

Good morning, everyone, and welcome to February 8th. Today we move on to our next type, which is the Liberty Nickel with CENTS (1883-1912).
(Or -1913, if you have one of those to post.)
Here is mine. It has subtle pastel toning which appealed to me.
Here is the example from my “Holey” type set. It’s really not bad for a holed piece.

I know it doesn't have a date, but it's clearly a Type 1. This was an ender in a roll from a box of nickels I picked up a year and a half ago.
I picked this out of a bin for $0.50. I've seen plenty of dateless Denver T1s, but only one with a date
