Being this is last day, I was really hoping @lordmarcovan was able to “turn the page” for us. This post of his was a lot of fun for all of us, as we were engaged regularly for almost three months. Regardless of grade or value, we have all seen the coins for what makes this wonderful hobby of ours fun for each of us. This post of his has had over 1,200 replies and over 11,500 views!!!! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
Today is Monday April 6th, and the last slot in the PCGS Dansco 7070 Set Registry is the Silver American Eagle (1986 - Present).
Here are four of mine, received just last week. While the all-inclusive CACG Registry, which allows coins graded by NGC, PCGS and CACG to participate, and has many thousands of different set definitions, they selected the top set of roughly 125 different “main” sets to recognize with these awards. I was fortunate to have four of those. But don’t be impressed. While D.L. Hansen was recognized, as expected, for 37 main sets, I was most impressed by the broad collection of @BarrowTH , who was recognized for his #1 ranking of 16 of those 125 or so main sets.

A day without fine wine and working on your coin collection is like a day without sunshine!!!
@Mr_Spud ... love the group shot. Also, thanks to @lordmarcovan and @winesteven for the oversight and day to day engagement to keep the group on track with the set progression. This was a great thread, and we got to see some wonderful examples on a daily basis. Bravo !!
This has been a great thread and lots of fun! While everything I have posted to date is my own, I don't have a pic of any of my ASEs so I "borrowed" someone else's of the same coin and variety. Mine looks "almost identical" ;-)

Sorry I was absent for the last two days, and thanks for keeping it going while I was away. Yes, this was a fun thread. I tip my hat to @Creg, for giving me the idea to start it.
First, here's a modern commem that used to be in my giveaway inventory.
Next, here is my Silver Eagle, which is also in my giveaway inventory.
Yep, it's hideous. I had several to choose from, and actually - deliberately - chose the nastiest one I could find! You see, this one has a story to tell...
The story, as I heard it: When Hurricane Helene ravaged the mountain communities of Western North Carolina in September of 2024, the floodwaters washed away one gentleman's house and all his worldly possessions, including a "Monster Box" of Silver Eagles. All of it was carried downstream in the muddy floodwaters. Later, recovery workers found the coins, and conscientiously tracked down their owner and returned them. But the coins were of course contaminated by the floodwater. Eventually they ended up in the hands of some Asheville coin dealers (four of whom are good friends of mine), and several were submitted to ICG for special holders. Here's the one I bought for my giveaways. I was since given another (even scuzzier) one by my friend Michael Swoveland of WNC Coins, which I've kept. I think these are interesting in the same tragic way that the WTC Ground Zero Recovery coins are.

@creg has suggested that we later do a journey through all the US states and territories. Not just the quarters and other commemoratives.
My Idea for that concept is that it would be inclusive of any numismatic item linked somehow to a particular state or territory, be it by design, place of manufacture, or history. Including paper currency and Exonumia.

Just throwing this out there... how about a virtual 7070 for issues NOT included in the original album... some of these will undoubtedly be pretty tough, but we could start with Half Cents... Liberty Cap (facing left 1793, Facing right 1794-7)... move to Cents... up to $20... perhaps we could do this by denominations? Throw in the $3 Princess gold that the 7070 skips...
Collecting: Dansco 7070; Middle Date Large Cents (VF-AU); Box of 20;

Wouldn’t just doing the complete 1792-up type set accomplish the same thing in a more organized fashion, even if it meant revisiting the types we already covered in this thread? I don’t think that partial repetition would be a bad thing- folks who missed their chance to post here would have another chance.
Doing it by denomination could work, I suppose.

Another upgrade to my set. Don’t have in hand yet, but I’m fairly certain I’ve held this coin before and loved it. My current WLH has been a really nicely toned 1942 in MS 64.
Just keeping the thread alive, here’s a new purchase I did to game the registry set position across the street. An AU58 buff nick is worth <100 points, but a PF58 is worth >1000 points if it is “Satin Finish”. I’m #1 across the street with circulated 7070 (without gold) and #2 with circulated 7070 (with gold), so gotta game the system to stay competitive

Bought this the year our oldest daughter was born, stuck it in one of those $.89 (back then) holders. Voila!

If we were all the same, the world would be an incredibly boring place.

Never a slave to one plastic brand will I ever be.
I only paid face value for this one on the monday before Christmas last year. The teller was a bit perplexed by it but sold it anyways

Well, I guess that's a wrap, unless anyone else wants to post something?
I suppose, if anyone wants to (after we've taken a break for a while), we could do another virtual, collaborative "collection".
Maybe the "Whole Enchilada" ... one of the complete 1792-up type sets? Just an idea. Run with it, if you want to.
Thanks again, to all who participated.

What about something like a run of colonial/federal issues if we have them? Just an idea 💡
Whatever keeps this thread alive is cool with me.
I’m just posting here this morning out of pure habit. Experiencing withdrawal symptoms over here.
I just posted this in the new purchases thread, but since it upgrades my 7070 I’ll share with this crew as well.
Sellers pics…..
