1920-S One Centavo from the US Philippines. A bit of a better date from what I've seen. I bought it on eBay last Tuesday so I'm still waiting for it to arrive
1877-S WB-6 "weird F" (R7) - picked on January 4th off eBay.

Now that’s the way to start the new year!
I agreed to purchase these four toned Lincolns at the end of 2025 but I didn’t receive them until the new year:
And I have these coming. 1798 S-173 and an 1802 S-235

I'm not sure if this is the 1st purchase of 2026, or the amended last purchase of 2025.
I suppose it is the first of 2026 because even though I asked someone to hold it for me, I could have backed out.

Hmmm, Nows probably a Good Time to pick up some old coinage from 200/300 years ago
This one was the first of a small FUN purchase group:
I’m going to cross to PCGS as I need it for my 12 piece Pattern 1C PR set. Note: I previously posted this in another thread.

I was the under bidder at GC on two others in the past 3 years so I jumped on this one when I found it was still available.

Wow! Y'all get off the blocks quick. Great pickups. Nada here yet.
I thought I saw this one come around briefly in 2025 but missed her. Ran across this lovely lady again in 2026 and had to bring her home.
Probably one of the sexiest rendition of liberty with this one being no exception.
The wear pattern makes it seem that liberty is wearing nothing but a silk shawl and the darker original surfaces add depth to the chest neck and especially the head.
It's all about what the people want...
Ugh! The wait tho....

That’s a nice, crisply struck ‘23!
Ill post better images when I get this coin. Back story is this is from a very old collection. As the seller put it "this coin hasn't seen the light of day in decades". He also told me its really really nice and very much undergraded. So I wait with much anticipation. I will post better images when I get it.

Im hoping for honesty here. We shall see.....

At the FUN show on Saturday, January 10th, I upgraded my rather generic 1899-S PCGS MS62 $20 Lib to a nicer NGC MS63 of the same date, for my old coin plus 75 bucks.
I had $2K in the old coin, so my total investment in the new coin is $2,085. (So I smile when I see that $4,400 price sticker I didn't pay for.)
That's $2,000 for the original investment, $75 for the upgrade fee, and $10 for @messydesk to shoot some photos of the new coin, which I look forward to seeing. Thankfully, the new coin is in an older NGC holder, so no pesky prongs to intrude into the photos.
Collector since 1976. On the CU forums here since 2001.
It's bad luck to post it before you have it in hand
I made the deal via a counter offer to David Lawrence Rare Coin in late December. We agreed that I could pick it up at the FUN show. The reverse die that was used to make this piece was left over from the 1790s. It had not previously been used. That is why I was attracted to this piece with feet in both the 18th and 19th centuries.
Here is a Draped Bust half cent reverse from the early 19th century. Note the difference in the lettering and the wreath.
Very nice coin & great info, Bill (as usual)!

Traded some common date gold for this at FUN. Such a cool piece of history. Still cant believe I finally got one.

Hoping this doesn’t jinx it as the piece is still in transit. Looks like it has a lot to love about it.

I guess this could be considered my first purchase of 2026 since I completed payment on it and picked it up at the FUN show last week.
Absolutely beautiful in hand…and a big thank you to John at CRO!

I bought one coin at F.U.N. It’s the only Proof half eagle that I own.

Just a 1oz silver round on Jan 1st via eBay BIN that is already a little more reasonable with silver rise
Hail the gift of memory in this fifty-second state. Who sold me down the river and shafts me while he waits. Outside the gates of Eden, star spangled and so late.
A gorgeous coin which belongs in your set!

Got this one at FUN from Rarity7. CACG Proof 68
First of 2026
Not as exciting as others above... 2025-D Kennedy 1/2 in PCGS MS67 for below the cost of grading...

Not perfect but perfect for me.

To quote the spinning plate guy asked to take the stage after the Beetles appeared on Ed Sullivan; :You expect me to go on after that?!!" I would be embarrassed to show any coin from my collection after @Pnies20 . Great coin congrats. James

I finally got the coin today. Pretty ugly but it fills a spot

I collect US half dollars in lower circulated condition G04 to F12
This showed up today along with the quarter I posted earlier. These photos make it look duller than in hand. It has lots of luster and cartwheeling still. This will fit my typeset nicely!
Wow!!
