You’d think I’d have completed the 1965 SMS set by now. I did have the nickel and the half, but got bored with the idea and sold them. They were rather eclipsed by the cent, which I kept.

There’s 1.3544 oz of gold in this big Peruvian 100-soles piece. Mintage of 23,000. I bought it as “bullion” but ended up keeping it because it graded out nicely and it has a nice design. And it’s a birthyear coin, of course.

(I have no idea why it won’t post the full sized photos here)
Post your 1965 stuff!

Happy Birthday Rob!
Can't find anything from 1965, 1865 (or 1765 for that matter).
How about a gem Washington Quarter, that I'm sure will grade 65 or better? It's also my Mom's birth year, so maybe close to one of your folks as well (I'm 61).

Who’s got one of those 1965 quarters struck on a silver planchet?
I want one of those, but don’t see myself ever be willing to pay the price those go for.

I don't have much from that year.
Gimbels used to push collectors to put Proof sets in Capital Plastic holders. The numismatists on the counter agreeded that you ran the risk of SMS coins losing their identity if you cut them out, so I put the set in this holder.
There's one on ebay for 20k.
My only 1965 coin. Apologies for stretching North of the border…..

Edited to add: Happy birthday!!
Happy birthday!

No need to apologize- I said US or World in the title! Variety is good.

I always thought the Imperial engravers must have been based. "Yeah, make him look like a tree trunk. What's he gonna do, burn down Rome?"
