That is quite a haul of Morgans !
I'm guessing they became attractive because they didn't cost a lot more then "melt" value (the CCs excepted, of course) ?

For sure has a lot to do with it. We are a new shop, just going on 2 months open in our area so it also doesn't hurt to have more inventory.
Now it's just the decision of what to do with them. Probably hold back the CC's and better dates and move a lot of the 63 and 64 common dates.
I had made my bid on the lot prior to the $7 jump in silver so I'm curious to see how much, if any effect that has on the wholesale buy prices on the 63's and 64 common dates.
Stared at this one for a while…..the earthquake level obverse die crack has been calling my name. Then when my wife hit me with a nice little eBay gift certificate for my birthday it made my buy price palatable enough to snag it. It will lower the grade of my 7070 set registries but whatever. It’s a much cooler coin (to me) than the VF20 that currently occupies the spot.

I tried lining up a G$1 T-1 in the hole but it’s a bit too big. Interesting side note: gold was used in commerce in those days instead of silver; the value of the silver exceeded its weight. Composition of this pattern is copper. Judd-147; Pollock-175; R-7.

Much appreciated. Combination of 17__ date, die break, and some type of hard to describe VG “cameo” effect that my eyes see, and the bean made me decide to go for it.

I can see that very coin left on the table at a New England tavern, say, circa 1805.
I bailed this one of lay-a-way just before Christmas. Its the earliest die state for the overdate i have seen in person. Some people want to see the overdate...this one is pretty apparent.

Bought this overgraded (to me at least) 1894-O for 300$ but I am happy with it.

@JWP , The Intaglio Mint stuff is always cool. I have many of those and wish ANACS would slab the 2 oz tokens.

Another misidentified 1855/54.
Not really a very recent purchase however it's my nicest 64 Saint and one of the nicest I've seen for the grade.

Those two Saints are SWEET!
Both Saints look conservatively graded. Nice coins.

Hopefully I’ll be able to get an MS68 one day… I THOUGHT I was bidding on another coin…and won this one unexpectedly. Happy camper nonetheless! 😉
Great piece of history.
