I just caught an update since my previous comment, looks like Williams got put on the 4 week IR.

thats not good. they really need that pressure up the middle

I’d expect some of their rookies will now get some more run. They signed EDGE Bradyn Swinson from their PS to take Williams roster spot and I’d expect DT Josh Farmer to take up some of Williams’ snaps.

Perk mentioned above about looking like we struck gold with Campbell & Henderson. If Farmer & Swinson can turn into regular rotational players in the coming weeks, it will mean that their top 9 picks from the 2025 draft will all be playing key roles.
It’s been a long time since NE has had a rookie draft class that has made a similar contribution in year one, the one that sticks out to me the most was 2010 with McCourty, Gronk,Hernandez, Zoltan Mesko, Brandon Spikes and 2-3 other lesser names.

I agree. they have gotten great mileage out of this draft class so far!!

George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.

    100%

They got rid of Hoodie, Mac Jones and Mayo, 3 of the best decisions in a very long time

We can add signing Diggs to that as well

I was scrolling through some of the SportsCardsDigest articles on their site last night and came across this Drake 1/1 sale. I’m guessing that this must be considered his best RC.

Talk about a gorgeous card, I'm not a modern card guy but that is nice and simple and it has the Old School uniform which makes it that much better

  • perkdogperkdog Posts: 32,666 ✭✭✭✭✭

I'd assume that card is priced in the thousands by now lol

  • craig44craig44 Posts: 12,126 ✭✭✭✭✭

imagine paying $164k for a card of a second year player???

    incredible!

I don’t follow the modern card market either but Panini could have really swung for the fences with Maye’s 1/1 RCs.

Maybe have one 1/1 using that same throwback jersey image of Drake above but instead of the shield, add a jersey swatch of the original Pat the Patriot logo instead and include Maye’s auto.

Then they could have a 2nd 1/1 with Drake wearing his normal 2024 Patriots jersey for the image and instead of the throwback logo of the other 1/1, use a Flying Elvis swatch along with his auto.

If Brady had a couple 1/1 RCs like that back in 2000, their value would have been astronomical today.

An auction house just sold it in October for 164K. Here’s a link to the site where I came across it https://sportscollectorsdigest.com/shohei-ohtani-rookie-card-tops-legends-auction-during-world-series-game-7

Imagine just being able to pay 164k for a card regardless lol

Big time gamble for sure. Who ever bought it will either make a ton of money in the future or lose a lot.

I like Maye a lot though so hopefully it goes way up. The Pats fans as a whole need to chill out a bit on the horny comments on his wifes ticktok cooking videos lol. They dated since middle school which is very unusual for a guy of his star power

Burrow is practicing in full, no doubt he is a top tier QB but he is built like a vase

I dont understand why they would play Burrow (which they may not) with Chase suspended. I did like Chases defense of the spit though that made me laugh. But what do they really have to gain playing the Pats with their best WR out

One of the funniest jokes I have seen is that the Bengals defense is so bad they cant even stop Burrow from coming back

They absolutely should shut him down. They basically have to win out to make the playoffs with the Pats, Bills and 2 ravens games on the schedule

Maybe they win one of those and probably beat the Browns at the end of the year but thats just a worst draft pick.

Pats should win next two weeks and lock in a playoff spot

9 straight but this W was costly, hopefully Campbell’s knee injury isn’t season ending. Wilson, Tonga & Schooler all went down as well.

Hats off to Joe Flacco for dislocating a finger and returning a few plays later to throw a TD.

i wish we could travel back in time to the preseason and have the football gods tell each and every one of you that your team will lose to the shitty Raiders in week 1.............then fast forward to week 13 and they'll be 10-2 with a 2.5-game lead over the Bills in the division

i'd pay real money to look at your faces

    it's freaking remarkable

    happy for you guys

  • perkdogperkdog Posts: 32,666 ✭✭✭✭✭

Happy with the win but I'm going to. say it yet again that I don't like that Vrabel shys away from easy 3 points near the goaline on 4th down

I just don't want it bite us when it really counts

  • perkdogperkdog Posts: 32,666 ✭✭✭✭✭

Hopefully Campbell is ok , they are doing further testing on his knee.

Injuries just seem to. happen too much

Dallas might have won that game 31-10 but for some miscues from the zebs early in the game and some weird play calling.

What was up with going on 4th instead of taking the lead with the FG? Schottenheimer is lucky that game turned out how it did.

  • bgrbgr Posts: 3,461 ✭✭✭✭✭

    Oops wrong thread.

  • craig44craig44 Posts: 12,126 ✭✭✭✭✭

I was traveling yesterday, so had to watch the game late last night. It was a difficult win to watch. for the first time in a long time, Maye looked disheveled in the first quarter. he did get it together after that though. it was good to see that a shaky start didnt mentally rattle him for the rest of the game.

goal line offense looked like garbage. seemed lost out there. doesnt McDaniels realize you do not have to run the ball into the middle of the defensive line every time it is goal to go? they need to add something there. maybe some options for Maye? even play action or tackle eligible. way way too predictable.

the injuries were tough to watch. having the whole left side of the line go down is a killer. the defensive front was also not getting much of a push with first williams last week and then tonga this week going down.

the good news, we currently have the first seed!!

George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.

it looked really bad when he was carted off with the towel over his head. I am mentally preparing to be without him until next season. he has been everything i could have hoped him to be thus far

I had hopes for the team at the beginning of the season. hoping we would end at over .500. I had zero aspirations for a 10-2 start and the top seed in playoffs as of this morning. none at all. I would have scoffed at the notion of 9 straight wins. I dont think Patriots have done that since 2015.

I have already slipped back into the old mindset of expecting wins every week.

Oddly it's a fitting for this thread, Vrabel. is allergic to kicking FG's inside the 5 when drives stall and wouldn't you know it would have cost us the game if Cincy scored on their last possession

These coaches are out thinking and out coaching themselves

It doesn't make a whole lot of sense. When the Saints opted for the FG each time I was shocked. Haven't they got the memo? The kicker missed em both so there's that, but I could not believe Dallas opted to not take the lead midway through the 4th.

With the Patroits... as a Packer fan myself, I can appreciate the feeling of moving on from one HOFer to someone who looks like they might be the next leg in the relay here. Just keep him away from the Ayahuasca.

If he goes on the 4 game IR he should return for the regular season finale against Miami.

I haven’t come across any recent updates on Wilson (ankle,) Schooler (ankle) & Tonga (chest) but if they’re also going to miss time at least it happened at the most opportune time for the Pats, they’ll get an extra day of rest before the Giants on MNF and then have their bye the following week.

  • erikthredderikthredd Posts: 9,860 ✭✭✭✭✭

Seeing all of the injuries yesterday were definitely a huge bummer but there was still a lot to be grateful for…Maye & Henry both with career highs in yardage, Carlton Davis came up big on multiple plays late in that game but most importantly IMO was seeing how the offense responded after getting down 10-0 early after Drake threw a Pick 6.

A lot of things went wrong yesterday yet they still pulled out the W, hopefully they can make it 10 in a row next Monday night.

  • craig44craig44 Posts: 12,126 ✭✭✭✭✭

lets hope it is a sprain for Will

George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.

  • perkdogperkdog Posts: 32,666 ✭✭✭✭✭

Yep looks like it is a sprained MCL for Campbell

  • perkdogperkdog Posts: 32,666 ✭✭✭✭✭

  • Basebal21Basebal21 Posts: 4,606 ✭✭✭✭✭

Sprains can last longer but you can wrap up the knee and play through MCLs. If youre going to injure any ligament in your knee thats the one you want.

I think the injuries are being down played a bit.

Id be more concerned about the ankle, but the Pats can afford to lose some games and still be in the playoffs so theyll probably sit them a couple weeks with the playoffs in mind

i guess this is the best outcome. thankfully there is the bye coming up soon. We have enough of a cushion that playoffs should definitely be a thing, not so sure about home field though.

now, to make sure Drake is able to stay mostly upright for the next month or so...
