One first down and it's over, if Sirianni can call some decent plays for once in this game.

Who is the Eagle’s offensive coordinator? He has to be the village idiot. This team is going nowhere in the post season no matter how good the defense is.

The refs just gave the game to the eagles on a phantom pass interference call. 😂😂
I guess they needed to save Sirianni from his idiotic decision not to punt on his own 30.
The eagles are paying the refs. Eagles are a complete fraud.

Somebody there needs to smarten up. Eagles O is getting way too predictable. A pee-wee league coach could have called a better offensive game.

I agree with ya about the decision to not punt.

The Tampa team keeps hiring offensive coordinators who make guys like Baker Mayfield look good and then get hired as head coaches after one season. Maybe the Eagles could pay Tampa to get the list of candidates the Bucks didn’t hire. It would better than the moron they have calling plays now.

I left the game shortly after halftime. neither team was clicking much on offense.

George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.

They are winning though, nobody was ever afraid of the Hurts Passing attack

They play a slow grinding boring style of football with their sustained clock grinding drives

    The Eagles are fine

You're right. I just realized that a boring win is better than an exciting loss. 🤔

the Eagles are a VERY good team. Currently my favorite team from the NFC. It is ok that they play a "boring" style, they win!!!

To me, they play a throwback style of football, like from the 70's-80's. A great defense and a grind it out offense. if they can get Barkley back to where he was last season, there is not a team they cannot beat in the NFL (including my Patriots)

George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.

The Dallas game will be a test even though Dallas is not very good. The Dallas defense is as bad as the Eagle’s offense. The Dallas offense is potent and could blow Eagle’s out if the bird’s defense has a bad game.

Dallas will only win today if the Eagles don't play their best game. Which is entirely possible.

That being said, I still think the Eagles find a way to win this game.

I’ll make a prediction. They will lose this game to Dallas. After a good start, the offense has gone home to Philadelphia.

Tied 21 - 21. The Eagles have folded.

The fact that Philly called that time out before the injury on the last play is one of the most baffling things I've seen today

I been watching NFL. since 1pm so that's saying a LOT

    Oh brother.

Barkley with 22 yards on 10 carries. Can't get mad at Saquon because of what he did for the Eagles last season. I will never forget that.

That being said, it's plain to see that he won't be back with the Eagles next season. This is likely his final season in the NFL.

Barkley is washed up. He and Aaron Rogers can be on the old has beens team next year. If the Jets had not already had Rogers, I’d pick them. The Jets are into has beens, especially at quarterback.

what is up with Barkley? is he washed or is it an OL issue? I have not seen enough Eagles games to make an assessment. is this the worst follow up to a 2000 yard season in history? he is only averaging 3.7 yards per carry

What”s the kiss of death for an NFL team? Have a pundit say that they are great and ready to role to greatness. The prime example is Indianapolis. Five weeks ago, I heard a pundit say that they had a great offensive and defense and were unstoppable. Since then the Colts have lost five straight, and their quarterback is out for the season. Their season is over. Ditto for the Eagles who appear to be in a funk similar to the one they had two years ago.

Someone said the Rams are unstoppable. Then they lost to Carolina. This year no one, with a big reputation, is safe. Baltimore is done. Kansas City is toast too, which will ruin the “fairy tale wedding” for Taylor Swift.

@stevek probably sees what I see, a repeat of the end of the Eagles’ 2023 season, an almost complete collapse. It’s hard to believe that a championship team can go through periods when they can’t do anything. The Eagles and the Tennessee Titans are equally inept.

The Eagles are off and stumbling. The Chargers march down for any easy touchdown.

Hurts throws another interception. He needs to retire. He’s embarrassing himself.

Eagles can’t score a touchdown from the two. Then they get a break to score at the end of the half … nothing.

The Eagles’ season is over. No surprises tonight.

Hurts is not a pure passer, he is slower but more successful version of Lamar Jackson

Without a strong D and powerful running game he is not going to put that team on his shoulders and win the game, opposing defenses spy him and it disrupts his game

  • craig44craig44 Posts: 12,704 ✭✭✭✭✭

my goodness, what an infuriating game to watch last night. was pulling for Phila. just so many turnovers.

I have never seen a play with 3 turnovers before. crazy.

I really thought the Eagles could do it this season. barring a big turnaround, I am afraid no. I did like seeing Barkley have a nice game though. they could build on that

George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.

Tough loss for the Eagles. In my opening remarks about this Eagles season, it was mentioned the chances of the Eagles repeating were iffy.

It's just so very hard to repeat back to back in the NFL, as we all know. And historically the Super Bowl losing team usually has even a rougher time of getting back there, as the Chiefs this season have illustrated.

Both Hurts and Mahomes had miserable performances this past week.

In any event, I'll keep rooting for the Eagles to win the Super Bowl this season, until they get eliminated, of which I'll be surprised if they don't at some point. That being said, I'm not angry or upset at all. That spectacular championship win last season will hold me for at least five seasons before I begin to get too hissed off about them. Well maybe three seasons. LOL

PS - the kind personal comments are very much appreciated. Thank you!

I was rooting for the Eagles last night to improve Buffalo’s playoff position. Man, talk about frustration and I have sympathy for an Eagles fan watching that performance. It isn’t a secret all Hurts has to do is not play bad enough to lose a game with the team surrounding him. Well last night, he single handily lost that football game. And still the Eagles did enough to carry it to overtime. The Eagles fans cried all year to pass the ball. Be careful what you wish for. Geez.

I would be interested to hear if the local fans in Phila or if local talk radio are having any conversations about Tanner McKee coming in for Hurts? seems like after a 4 INT performance critics would be out.

Credit where credit is due to the Chargers kicker. A stat flashed on the screen that he has made I think it was 100 out of his last 102 kicks. Not sure if that includes extra points or not, probably does, but even if it does, that is one heckuva weapon to have on your team.

No strong debate about that. Barring injury, Hurts will stay in there.

you guys are failing to give Hurts the credit he so handsomely deserves. he had 5 turnovers, not 4. two on the same damn play. first player since 1978 to do so, and that's as far back as the data goes. so theoretically we could go all the way back to the age of dinosaurs to find someone, or something, that topped that fantabulous feat. rumor has it a stegosaurus once threw 3 picks and fumbled 4 times on a flea flicker, but i'm having a hard time corroborating that.

Completely understand the negativity towards Hurts in that game. Especially with Barkley gaining 122 yards, it should have opened up some passing lanes for Hurts with some better reads and accuracy, to have a good game.

joking aside, your team is an enigma. remember what happened in '23? it reeks of that. let's break it down in a simplistic fashion:

is Hurts a good QB? yes

is Saquon a good RB? yes

is DeVonta Smith a good WR? yes

is A.J. Brown a good WR? yes

is Goedert a good TE? yes

good o-line? yes, ranked 5th by PFF going into that game last night

so we've established that they have talent all over the field. yet watching them on offense is excruciating. instead of sensing that a big play is coming at any moment with that type of personnel, it's an overwhelming sensation that a catastrophe is about to go down. yes i bet on them, but i mention that because i was glued to every play of that game. and i'm here to tell you that i felt like i needed therapy after it was over. every time the Eagles mounted a drive, i never once thought it was going to result in a house call. it got so bad that i practically winced every time Hurts dropped back to throw. it wasn't a matter of if, but when he was going to complete a pass to the Chargers.

i watched them flex on the Lions a few weeks ago, then they took that momentum and raced to a 21-0 lead over Dallas the following week. from that point on they have looked like the team from 2023 that withered up and died.

if the Eagles sucked and had no talent, that would be one thing. what has been transpiring would be completely understandable. but dude they are loaded and should be rocking teams like Dallas, LA and -- yes -- the Bears.

they are so Jekyll & Hyde and i don't know what to make of it

That TD run propelled me to a come from behind win and fantasy football playoff berth so I am more than happy with Barkley for now (until next week)!

I can't disagree with ya at all. And you're so right about that Dallas game. Championship teams don't give up a lead such as that to a mediocre at best team like the Cowboys, and win the Super Bowl. It just doesn't happen.

I mentioned this earlier in the season, that Sirianni and his OC were becoming way too predictable in their play calling. I'm not saying to suddenly become gunslingers, but mix it up a little bit for crying out loud.

  • galaxy27galaxy27 Posts: 9,882 ✭✭✭✭✭

i don't know what to make of Sirianni, either. he's an interesting fella to say the least. idk if anyone else caught this, but right after Jalen tossed the game-ending INT the camera panned to Sirianni and he looked like he had just held his newborn baby for the first time. i couldn't make heads or tails of that. what could you possibly be happy about, even if you're feigning it? here i am on the verge of requiring emergency treatment after 4 quarters of that spectacle and the head coach is smiling like a cheshire cat

I did see that. Not sure what to make of it. But certainly that reaction was odd.

I still haven't lost confidence in Sirianni, especially after the great last season. That being said, he's going to need to reinvent the play book a bit, and some other actions that perennially winning NFL coaches do.

you guys are failing to give Hurts the credit he so handsomely deserves. he had 5 turnovers, not 4. two on the same damn play. first player since 1978 to do so, and that's as far back as the data goes. so theoretically we could go all the way back to the age of dinosaurs to find someone, or something, that topped that fantabulous feat. rumor has it a stegosaurus once threw 3 picks and fumbled 4 times on a flea flicker, but i'm having a hard time corroborating that.

Completely understand the negativity towards Hurts in that game. Especially with Barkley gaining 122 yards, it should have opened up some passing lanes for Hurts with some better reads and accuracy, to have a good game.

Barkley had a 50 yard run which put his number up, he wasn't consistently gashing the D

Hurts had a bad game, it happens

They own that division, Dallas isn't going anywhere and the Redskins and Giants are cooked

That TD run propelled me to a come from behind win and fantasy football playoff berth so I am more than happy with Barkley for now (until next week)!

    Nice!!!
