If you were to find a coin in old furniture what type of coin would you like to find?
Mine would be a nice shield nickel with rays

Something worth orders of magnitude more than a shield nickel with rays.

With my luck, I would find a zinc cent in George Washington’s desk.

Wish: A pile of octagonal $50 gold slugs.
Reality (what I actually have found in furniture): one 1959-D Memorial Cent.

When we moved into our house 18 years ago the sellers left and old upright piano in the basement. When the movers brought it up from the basement an 1893 Liberty 5c dropped out.

Bad choice. The government will confiscate it if it knows you have it.

I would like an 1802 half dime. I have collected the early dates since the mid 1970s, and that’s the one I can’t get.

Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?
