I feel. confident we can win today, Miami is a dumpster fire so let's go into Miami and punch them in the face.

Another player from the 2024 Pats draft class has been sent packing,

With just Drake Maye & OL Caedan Wallace left out of their 8 picks, I don’t see Eliot Wolf being kept around after this season.

I know you didn't agree with me but I couldn't stand Polk

I didn’t care about Polk at all, I just wanted to see them get some sort of value for him, even as small as it was.

Just 17 months later, 6 of their 8 2024 draft picks are no longer on the roster and the only return that the team saw for that entire group was this minimal trade package.

I get that, it sucks but it is what it is

We need to evaluate talent better

Or maybe just give them more time to develop, on top of better talent evaluation.
Moving off of that many draft picks after one season is very very rare especially when 3 were in the top 110 picks.

When a team totally gives up on a player drafted that high, in such a short amount of time, it’s usually due to an arrest or situation where the optics look very damning on the organization. That’s not what happened here.

In most cases, many of these young players will get waived then signed onto the practice squad and Vrabel was like nope, you’re all gone lol.

That’s much easier said than done. Miami has won 8 of the last 9 games against NE, regardless of home or away.

If we do happen to win, it will be interesting to see if Mike McDaniel gets canned or not.

The history of us going down there and playing isn't great as we both know but I think Miami is unraveling, I think Tyreek wants out and McDaniel can't handle attitudes,

    Pats 23 Miami 16

I actually just checked and Miami has won 4 in a row against NE in Miami. Tua has also never lost to the Pats.

Looks like Christian Gonzalez is out again and if Carlton Davis continues to get beat like he did last week, I’d expect Tyreek & Waddle to have a field day versus our secondary.

If we’re going to have any chance of winning this game, Josh McDaniels needs to get the run game going. Do whatever he needs to do to get TreyVeyon Henderson more touches on offense.

  • craig44craig44 Posts: 11,871 ✭✭✭✭✭

feeling confident today as well. If we can get consistent pressure on tua, he will wilt. it is what he does under pressure. if that first read is not open, panic time

George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.

Miami has always been a tough game for the Patriots, especially in the fish’s yard. The Patriots had problems with them even when they were great. I am not optimistic.

I want this kicker cut right now

Not after the game not tomorrow but right now

  • BillJonesBillJones Posts: 34,929 ✭✭✭✭✭

This kicker has got to go. There has got to be somebody out there who is better than this stiff.

As for Miami, they have no defense. Their best defensive player is the New England kicker.

Give him one more shot. If he misses, we can try the punter.

defense getting shredded. missing CB1 really hampers them. no pressure on Tua. will need to change that up in the second half and make the game quicker for him. he struggles when things speed up

George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.

That was such a weird game. Lots of good, lots of bad but glad we got the win.

i agree, it was weird. here is hoping all 3 units will gel together better after a few more weeks.

glad to eek out the W

    can we PLEASE bench/cut Stevenson?

7 fumbles last season, 2 today.

    I have had enough

George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.

  • craig44craig44 Posts: 11,871 ✭✭✭✭✭

now gibson with a fumble. impossible to win with all the turnovers. 4 so far. 2 at goal line/end zone

George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.

  • perkdogperkdog Posts: 32,170 ✭✭✭✭✭

Gross, they had a chance but didn't get it done

  • craig44craig44 Posts: 11,871 ✭✭✭✭✭

5 turnovers total. cant win that way

George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.

  • craig44craig44 Posts: 11,871 ✭✭✭✭✭

the only reason to keep stevenson on this team is to save wear and tear on henderson

George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.

  • erikthredderikthredd Posts: 9,804 ✭✭✭✭✭

It’s been pretty tough trying to get a read on this team under Vrabel. You can see the offense getting better each week where they start stacking up consecutive successful plays into a deep prolonged drive, only to let one mental error at the very end ruin it all. They were absolutely brutal at finishing off drives today.

They had the 5 turnovers plus 2 more interceptions that got overturned.

As for Stevenson, I think the worst part is that he’s been their best player on offense over these first three games. I doubt that they’re going to change his touches much unless he keeps coughing the ball up.

They’re now 0-2 at home with Carolina coming in next, who just shut out the Falcons 30-0 today.

  • craig44craig44 Posts: 11,871 ✭✭✭✭✭

team looked great yesterday. It helps that they were playing Carolina. a big test coming next weekend

George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.

  • perkdogperkdog Posts: 32,170 ✭✭✭✭✭

They definately looked great against arguably the worst team in the league

I'll take the win though, Special teams has been pretty damn good this season

Carolina shut out Atlanta 30-0 and then Atlanta smoked Washington. It’s a strange league

    Tough one

Stevenson at least came back after that one with some hard runs and a couple TDs.

Antonio Gibson tearing up after leaving the medical tent didn’t look like a good sign with his knee injury. If he’s down long term they’re going to need Stevenson to step up even more.

    Good win tonight.

Congrats to Patriots fans on the very nice win.

Phenominal. game but those late penalties were gross

Stevenson made up for those fumbles

Maye can play big boy football which was great to see, Diggs with the redemption game sticking it to McDermott and Allen for sure

Me too but he’s not anywhere close to being as good of a pass blocker at the NFL level as Stevenson.
I’m pretty sure that last night was the first game that Henderson didn’t have an offensive holding penalty so that’s a positive in his favor.

Still no word on Gibson’s injury.

Antonio Gibson out for the remainder of the season with a torn ACL.

Tough hit, hate to see it happen but that's the cost of doing business in the NFL sometimes.

They can find a replacement for him, if Stephenson can stop fumbling I'd be happy to see him as our big back and turn Henderson into a James White type guy which is really valuable

They can probably find any other RB to come in and run the ball in whatever direction the play dictates but protecting the ball consistently while also being able to pass block at a decent rate is a lot easier said than done. Most of the unsigned RBs are there for a reason and would likely come with their own set of flaws. Or may not even be close to being as game-day ready as Henderson has been, which is still a work in progress.

Even White really didn’t hit his pass protecting stride until he was in year 3. For Kevin Faulk it was around the same time as well and he dealt with his own fumbling issues himself.

I think we’re going to see that Mike Vrabel’s way of handling stuff like this (turnovers/mental errors,) will be much different than Belichick’s You’re dead to me approach whenever someone makes a costly error or somehow just managed to p!ss Bill off.
BB would banish a guy to the Hole while Vrabel just throws him back out there with a chance to redeem himself, just look at that 4th & 1 play from their own 15 early against Pittsburgh.
There really wasn’t statistical percentage that made any sense going for it on 4th down there yet he gave Stevenson his first carry after his earlier fumble and he gained like 10ish yards and a new set of downs. (Drake finished off that drive with an end zone pick soon after but it was Rhamondre’s big run that extended that possession.)

I expect that’s probably going to be Mike’s M.O. going forward but they do need another body at RB to replace Gibson too though. Terrell Jennings is still on their practice squad and will likely be their next call-up.
