Back to the same site again today: 1935 Buffalo nickel and two wheat cents with my Equinox 600.

Never mind, I proved myself wrong.

Went detecting for about 90 minutes at a vacant lot within walking distance of my house. Two wheat cents were the only old coins that I found. This was my first time detecting in over two months.

Getting out is better than not getting out. I haven't gone detecting in a year and who knows when I'll be able to again.

I started again this year and have to keep/stay on level ground for now. I do hope you can get back out 👍🙂

Hopefully you can share some good finds and can get some quality hunts in

Today I had an appointment with a specialist doctor about 40 miles from my home. I decided to take the day off work and do some metal detecting in that area before and after my appointment.

In the morning, I went to a site where I found a number of silver coins about five years ago. Today I managed to dig up a 1960-D dime and seven wheat cents at the site. I then visited two more nearby sites that were no good.

After finishing my doctor's appointment, I bought an electric bike from a nearby Craigslist seller and then proceeded to one final metal detecting site. At the final site, I dug a damaged 1918-D Mercury dime and three more wheat cents.

I've barely done any metal detecting this year and hadn't dug a Mercury dime all year before today.

Good to see you’re still getting out there, albeit on a more limited basis. I’ve slowed down my outings also, to @ once every couple of weeks lately - life obligations happen. Hopefully you’ll be getting out more frequently before the cold winter weather sets in. Looking forward to seeing the pics!

The weather was beautiful yesterday, sunny with highs in the 60s. I decided to take off work and do some detecting before winter arrives. I visited a few Chicago parks, most of which were no good. I started at the park where I found a Mercury dime last month; but, all I found were a couple of dogs that insisted I pet them.

I managed to find a 1946 dime at one park and a wheat cent at another.

Shortly before I found the 1946 dime, a local resident approached me and said, "I've seen you here before." When I told him this was my first visit ever, he said that somebody else regularly detects that small park and he assumed it was me. Apparently the other guy looks for recent drops in the playground area.
