THIS coin, bought this morning, really excites me! I’m building a 24 coin Barber Dime Proof Set, and intended to buy coins with a CAM suffix for all dates except 1902, 1903, 1904 and 1915, since those four dates have very few coins with a CAM suffix. This new coin, dated 1915, PR66CAM, is one of the only four (PCGS) with a CAM suffix. It also has a CAC sticker!

Taking my Red Eye with me this early Saturday AM, as I leave my comfort zone with this NEWP:
Incredible eye appeal & way too nice to pass up! A top coin in the Jett Collection of Barber dimes, it also has the pedigree of one of the great all time collectors, Eugene Gardner. It’s been a few weeks since I listed a NEWP here & this one’s a fabulous way to end the dry spell!
Good morning, everyone! @Copperindian if the coffee doesn’t wake us up, that dime sure will! That is gorgeous!
Listening to the birds and having a coffee on the deck this beautiful summer morning. Today, my better half and I are going to a couple of antique shops and hitting some tag sales.
This curious fella was passing through the yard this morning.
@Downtown1974
I'll see your "curious fella" and raise you a "horrendous creature," this in the form of a Wetland Giant Wolf Spider I plucked out of my basement yesterday. Never seen one of these in NJ before.
And here's a token to get that image out of your nightmares, 😆

Last night was another gorgeous sunset, and then this morning, I woke up to the sound of relentless rain. The joys of living at the edge of the world, right on the wild Pacific.
I agree Todd, you are lucky as we all are to be able to enjoy this great hobby. AND, I also second your comment about that wonderful dime. Must say I like the slab photos better! Such eye appeal!
I wanted to look at my 1859 half the other day for some reason and then got reminded about this stunner with its wonderful PL surfaces that glimmered in the light sitting in the next box slot. If I ever narrow down my halves to a box o 20, this one would be in it. Just a "measly MS62" CAC as well!

Got back from the Baltimore show. Some dealers commented that there were very few collectors. Well, I was part of the few collectors there and I had more to choose from. So I had a great time and picked up a wonderful Seated dollar. This thread is amazing with all the wonderful coins and now waterviews @Inspired70 and wild life @downtown & @DCW.

That coin stopped me for a moment when I was looking at your and others' sets recently in the CAC registry.
On the road again, but still having a “Red Eye Saturday” nonetheless. Today, I have the first of a final 3 coins that will complete my type gold set. All 3 are very tough & I think pretty special:
This one, imo, speaks for itself. I hope the next two will complement it nicely. Next Saturday, I’ll be back home & will post the second one of the three.
@Copperindian that coin checks all of the boxes. Superb addition.
Happy Saturday, everyone!
Got my coffee in hand, but no coins this morning. We have a busy day lined up.
Fortunately, I have a nice looking quarter eagle out for delivery today.
Note to self ... do not have rattlers or raw coins nearby while drinking coffee, at least not until the coffee has stabilized your metabolism
.
Oh man, some gorgeous early gold. @Copperindian That coin is fantastic. Love yours too @Coinbert
.
Chores, chores and more chores. And here I thought semi-retirement would be easy.
Off and away shortly, but here's one for the morning crowd.
About 5 years ago, in the beginning of 2020's dumpster fire and the COVID issues, I fell (was pushed?) into the rabbit hole that would start a raging fever and insatiable quest for AU Capped Bust Halves. I mostly blame the guy who later become my sponsor in the BHNC @lkeigwin for that, but he wasn't the only one. Plenty of other Club members and folks around here gave me nudges (and shoves)!
Anyway, in the beginning of that fall from sanity, I started looking at 53/50/55 coins. While I still appreciate those grades, any one following along in my insanity has seen a shift to more and more pursuit of 55/58 coins.
But I still love that all the AU's, especially with natural skin and crust. So along that line, here's one of those coins from early on in my tumble (and an older image to go with it); a 27-108a which I bought off eBay from a guy I didn't know at the time, but who became a pretty good friend of mine @ebriker
She really kind of personifies that look I was seeking the first year or so. In fact, I wouldn't pass on coins like this today either. Any date and variety. I just love the natural crust over the right kind of detail and remaining luster.
Happy Saturday! Hope you guys all have a great day!!

all great coins and happy Saturday. Rained out again for tennis. Maybe I should be thrown out of this thread as I can't read - Maybe - Saturday morning coffee and coins (and currency)?
With its harder to locate coins for my sets its on to large size currency = Looks so cool - Enjoy and happy weekend.

GM my early morning coffee drinkers -
And now for something completely different (Monty Python saying) for me are 2 coins with a short coin story.
The 1802/1 $5 I acquired from an auction way back in the 1970s where is it was seriously undergraded. If I remember correctly it was graded choice VF - I love it - I always wondered if if I added the 2 marks on the obverse face when I was stapling the coin into a 2X2 holder. Remember those days before third party slabbing......
The next one I found this coin raw way back in 1999 in a dealer's show case and I felt this was so cool. I guess it was struck 3X but it flipped over each time before being struck - but I am not sure how it was done?? My only clad coin in my cabinet -
(no idea how to properly size these pics but back to some coffee, then to tennis then pickle ball then a nap)
Good Saturday morning one and all!
It’s going to be a nice, sunny day today. Starting my morning by having a cup of my favorite bean and then filing away this weeks new acquisition to my $2.50 Indian set.
This Morgan is still on my desk from a few weeks ago. Paid under $100 for it but it’s one of those coins I love to look at.
Home again with my usual Saturday AM Red Eye. I’m pleased today to post the 2nd of my three gold types that will complete the set:
A capped bust at this grade with a CAC bean is a find. This one’s an all natural crusty original found for me by Dan Decker/Peak Rarities. A BIG THANKS to Dan for his expertise, securing this beauty & looking out for me!
Next week, the last of the three & a true rarity!
Beautiful day here. Relaxing with my book this morning on the porch with a cappuccino. Had to work last night, so this is my independence day!
By the way, this book on Shiloh by Winston Groom is a fantastic read. Last week, I got to the battlefield for the first time, and it was an amazing, somber experience.
And here's a civil war token to keep the thread rolling:
Happy Saturday, all! Stay caffeinated
