That's a nice one Tim! I'm sure you are surprised by how much the VF30 of THAT date went for last night on GC, I know I sure am. I've got a soft spot for 1903 S quarters and here's one of my examples- PCGS VF35:

@sedulous Fantastic 1905-o quarter, and certainly one of my favorite dates. Have fun at the show! Can't think of a better time playing with Barbers! Jealous!

    Two favorite dates/coins.

Shireman, Ducker, holy smokes @Eldorado9 Eldo! your killin' it with your collection!

1903-S, ok Jed! Sweet circulation-tone quality on yours. It has that slight brownish-tinge in hand? (asking because sometimes digital images can be deceiving).

This one has a slightly darker gray appearance as shown. I am surprised it got a plus grade actually:

    1903-S Barber Quarter PCGS XF45+

1903-S quarter would be a great choice.

I’m partial to the 1897 O Half. I’ve owned many of them over the years, constantly looking for a coin that would grade as a 58. Then I found this one, and it graded as I hoped:

    I love them Barber Halves.....

I dont know, these, "P" dates are pretty special too! Now I just need to find a 96 to compete my mint state date set!

Did you win the 1896 MS66 at tonight's CAC Approved Coinage auction at HA?.

I did not, I was focused on the two above coins. I will have to start expanding my search I guess.

Just finished two days of CSNS in Schaumburg, IL. Just imaged my newps. I will share one tonight.

The special display I mentioned earlier was never shown or displayed together before per my understanding. The #1 Everyman Registry Collection of 100%Swede!

    Really amazing!

Amazing accomplishment, many with CACs. The individual coins can be viewed on the PCGS Set Registry at Everyman Twenty Cents and Quarters - Everyman Barber Quarters (1892-1916) - 100% Swede

I rarely get excited about uncirculated pieces but I couldn't pass this old holder one up:

I bought this absolute blazer "as is"
five years ago for less than $200. None of my Barbers are as bright as this one.

Bump this up for a couple of upgrades....And a semi-key Denver date:

A nice recent article by Greg Reynolds considering MS64 and MS65 Barber Quarter coins:

If this link doesn't work, it is from CAC so you need to go there and search for the article.

Id love to complete a set in the grades he describes. You would have to have a pretty large budget to do so though!

The collection at CSNS was the #1 Everyman Barber Quarters in PCGS Forums (100%Swede) and I got to spend time with the son of the owner (inherited collection). The 1892-O that was purported to be a Branch Mint Proof didn't pan out so nothing new there. We encouraged the owner as best we could to keep looking for cool Barbers! His story for how he came to the coin was one of my show highlights making the coin special for other reasons.

Thank you Tim that means a lot,I put a strong bid on it early and it hung on to the end. It's a great feeling to get an AU semi-key Denver mint from 1911,a pretty good upgrade from my self submitted (raw) VF30-seeing it in hand when I opened it I was pleased with the amount of luster it has the reverse is an AU57 LOL real strong (full) wingtips very well struck...it will be hard (and expensive) to upgrade this AU53 I'm really happy with it.

@Redglobe, Those are a couple nice looking pickups! I really like that '11 D. If you get a chance show us the VF30 that you submitted too. I'm a big fan of those mid-grades, mainly for affordability reasons. :) As usual I'm in the shallow end of the pool, but I just received one that has a look that I like:

Just eliminate the 1896-S, 1901-S, 1913-S, and for good measure the 1909-O. With time and if you are lucky, the set in MS64 could be completed for just over $100,000. Think of it as spending $5,000 a year over 20 years. :)

    1911-D is a tough date! It's population rank in grades MS64 - MS66 is #10.

Well, I am at 28% on my mint state set, so I have 15+ years to go, right, LOL!!!
