This is posted on his website about the new 1964 dollar:
"All previous “1964” over-strikes produced from 2010 to 2020 had a “D” (Denver) mint mark and standard low relief or medium relief. The 2025 issue has full high relief on both sides and no mint mark.
The US Treasury has categorically stated that all the original 1964-D Peace Dollars were accounted for and destroyed in 1965. But in the 1970s the Treasury Department indicated that two more 1964 Peace Dollars were destroyed at the Philadelphia Mint or at US Mint Headquarters in Washington DC.
This has led some people to question whether or not the Mint really did manage to destroy all the 1964-D Peace Dollars that were produced in Denver in 1965. And if two survived until the 1970s, then perhaps others have survived to this day ?
What this viewpoint fails to consider is that the Philadelphia mint likely produced some test strikes circa 1964-1965. The two coins destroyed in the 1970s were likely Philadelphia Mint production, not Denver Mint output. As such, they may have been produced with no mint mark (as were all Philadelphia coins of that era).
What if the Philadelphia Mint used the original 1921 Peace Dollar models from their archives in producing the Philadelphia 1964 Peace Dollars ? The “Die Pair 10” issue replicates this scenario, including the inclusion of the original “Broken Sword” and full relief from both the obverse and reverse models. A matte proof version also replicates the original high-relief matte proofs of 1921-1922.

Ordered both Peace dollars (Die Pair 10) & the CG $500.
I knew the CG was gonna be expensive with the run up on gold, yeesh, $1,100! The first one in 2013 was $450 w/ gold at $1,400. After doing smoe maths the ratio ends up about the same.

Most of the current (new) products just came out and will likely be available for a few months (that is about the average time span). The mintages will be determined by how many are ordered. The one exception is the 1950-D Nickel 75th anniversary. It has a fixed mintage of 75 and it will be available until it sells out. About 1/3rd of them have been sold so far. So it might be available for a couple more months, but that is hard to predict.

Yesterday, I had a pre-auction bid on this Holabird auction lot. I've been looking for a 2016 So-Called Gathering slug facsimile (lower right of the photo) for a few years now. They just don't come up. Long story shorter, I received an important call when the lot went live, and ended up losing by $50. Oh well. Maybe someone here won the lot (I hope so). If so, congratulations. Someday, I'll manage to get one.

Did Daniel Carr make these dies & strike them for other companies ?
I recently picked up 1759 Martha Washington that turned out to be his reverse die & he minted them in silver & gold.
Above right in image, I may have a couple of Carr's 1977 Flowing Hair $ in silver that were gifted to me & I wondered who made them ?

GOVMINT apparently offered some for sale, but I did not make the pieces for them., or have contact with them.

My shipping helper (wife) has been sick with some type of flu bug going around. First it was me (now fully recovered), then my daughter, and now my wife. That has, unfortunately, delayed my production and especially the shipping. She is getting better and I hope that normal shipping can resume within two days. I finally have enough of the host coins in-hand to produce enough to fill pending orders. So I will be doing nothing but actual production minting for the next couple days.

Adding raw items to the registry is handy for me as I have yet to ship off any Moonlight Mint item for encapsulation.
Now I guess I need to learn about the concept of registry as I never participated in one.
After some browsing, I think I understand:
I need to acquire items I do not own to achieve a completeness score.
Sadly, I cannot participate in any registry as I only archive items I want to own.
I guess this is concept behind registry sets collectors here constantly speak of.

I pulled the trigger on this contracted piece out of Utah and have it in hand, it’s gorgeous and struck on a lib $5 with minimal artifacts.
The seller has a couple listed on eBay with a somewhat lofty (IMO) BIN , but I won his no reserve auction a hair over the 2025 $500 Clark Gruber I just also pulled the trigger on through the moonlight mint.
Happy collecting folks, I’m kinda regretting not buying the P&W Union half eagle for $625 from the factory last year… if anybody sees one around holler at ya boy 😉
