There was a coin club that used the gold Indian design for a medal they just released. Does anyone remember the club name? I put an order in and was supposed to hear from them by now but I haven’t.

I reserved a couple and they requested a check about a week ago. Sent the check and medals are in the mail. Email came directly from Harold at MCCC.

@Twobitcollector thanks for the feedback. I bought two silver and had a gold restamped as a 1933. Curious to see the interest in these.

There is an 1860 Mormon silver half eagle coin just recently done, if anyone can track down the distributor.

A graded one was posted on Ebay.

I thought this CC morgan Pattern was done after this J1512, but the reverse is slightly different.

The first pic of the Dragon piece is on Ebay. It almost looks high relief.

Yes, the Eagles are different. The one I used is from the reverse of the 1918 Lincoln/Illinois half dollar. I liked it better, and it was a lot easier to get a Lincoln half to use as a model coin compared to one of the original Morgan patterns.

Thank you @HalfDime and @dcarr for the correction and clarification regarding the inspiration behind the 1877-CC Morgan Pattern Dollar.
I stand corrected, and have put out a correction video: https://youtu.be/G8PHpRwuDOQ

Here is a 1963 Scarface Kennedy Dollar, Eisenhower's head left a scar down the front of Kennedy's face.

This coin has a large mintage of 1,671. I notice on Ebay it appears there are about four other scarfaces listed like this one (along with ones without a scar).

OK, I see where I was wrong,,,,, Dan's coin is modeled after a 1958 Double Die, not a 1955 coin.

Yes and the coin lost just a bit of specialness & had hoped the mintage would have been held to 100. Oh well, it looks rather nice.

Breen wrote long ago he saw like 2 rolls of the previously unknown 58 DDO on a bourse floor late 50's-early 60's when they were all owned by Charles Ludovico who was a former 1958 era Philly Mint employee. Breen recalls the story and names Chas Ludovico in one of the two books I own of his.

    I say:

    Ultimate Shenanigans !
Observe the initial hoopla over some 35,000 55 DDO Cents, then create a similar die, then strike a couple rolls, then get them out of Mint. Closest things like it, if true, are the five 1913 Liberty Nickels originally owned by a ...
    Philly Mint Employee

I am guessing more orders are for more than one of Daniel's 58D VDB Wheatie DDO fantasy ?
    I have three incoming.

I've got my 1958 DD and like it a lot. Quick question for Dan if he reads this: how do you prep copper blanks before overstrikes and do you rinse before and/or after (if so what with?)?

I reached out to the Seller on Ebay but didnt get any kind of response..

If you happen to strike some on blank gold planchets and offer them to the public I would be interested in one.

If not no worries, I've missed out on a number of $5 issues over the years due to various reasonings,

The host cents are cleaned via a mild abrasion process. There is no rinse.

However, if one develops a mild spotty discoloration, a brief soak in clear vinegar (followed by thorough rinsing) should cure it.
