Looks like their population report is messed up.

This isn't the only case. My Indian head gold centennial (mintage 16) is listed among the silver varieties (mintage 2016, population 310). https://portal.anacs.com/Verify/CertVerification.aspx?cert=7482171

That 1950-D encasement sure looks cool. Looks like a ti-metal and in reality is is a brass/copper/nickel.

What are your impressions of the new matte Peace dollar? It does not seem to have the same sandblasted look of the matte 64-D Peace dollar.

I have not opened mine up yet. But I will post some images soon.

It's a more proofy matte for sure compared to regular.

I’m sure this isn’t Dan’s work , I contacted her and here’s the response ‼️( the first message is me telling her it’s not a Moonlight mint product…… the second message is her response)

Picked up the ANACS submission I dropped in Denver at the Buena Park show recently. Stacks of 2 each of the different finishes for the Peace die pair 10, the 1 limit on the encased 50-D nickel, the Denver sample slab given to setup dealers (like the 50-D). The rest are the ANACS Schaumberg sample slab and 2 each of the CSNS 2024 and 2025 tokens I had to pick up and give to ANACS. Oh, and the cool Clark Gruber silver octogons for this year.

How can a 1950-D Nickel get a grade of MS69?

I believe Anacs and NGC grade the token (outer part) and not the coin inside in these instances.

How do folks manage to snag the double or triple strikes? Is there a secret code when ordering? Only kinda joking 🙃

@jshaulis , @D808LF is not far from being wrong. I asked Dan if there were any available and he said there was one double struck of the Jefferson 1950-D commemorate available if i wanted it. Good timing on my part.

Thx Lindy for the pics. Love DC's passion and how his mind workx in troubleshooting. It's been almost 6 years since he afforded me a private tour of the mint and other collections.

I still think DC should do a series on classic cars. B)
