I ordered mine on 10/14 also, still patiently waiting.

Yes, I realize that I am way behind on production (of several things, including some large commissioned orders).
Having the coin press go down for a while and also the necessity of some home and auto repair chores contributed to that.
But I am working non-stop to get caught up. During this time I have taken the opportunity to engrave some dies for new products. What is nice about that is I can start the engraving machine and let it run unattended while I do other things.
So I will have some new product offerings in a few days. There are several, related to the 1958-D Lincoln and 1979 Eisenhower.
Patiently waiting for my Native Head order. Things do break. It just happens. I'll just drop them off with ANACS at FUN anyway. So there's plenty of waiting time for me.
If you have an account on his site, sometimes it will update to shipped. I've always relied on usps informed delivery. Look for a registered mail package out of Colorado and you will know. The tracking number will begin with RF.

Got my little tribe today. These are no doubt some of my fav Carr pieces. Got a few of the silver/brass and very happy that I got examples of both with and without the die cracks. Thanks to @Namvet69 for his good shots of the cracks -- they are not easy to spot unless the lighting is right.
.
AND the gold -- exquisite! Interestingly have a coppery tint unlike the original I sent in to overstrike more brassy colored (although, I'm not sure I got the exact coin back?). No matter, I love them! Imagine getting one of these in your change in 1915 FRESHLY minted?? That's what I'm holding right now. 😮

Anyone who sent in a coin for over-striking definitely received the exact same coin back (after over-striking). I segregated and tracked each submitted coin, throughout the entire process.
These have been tricky to over-strike, given that they have a sunken-relief topography. It is generally not possible to entirely eliminate the under-type outlines, so some apparent "doubling" of some design elements is inevitable.
The host coins have deep grooves for lettering, and those grooves tend to retain black gunk from circulation. The best way to remove that is bead-blasting. But any time that 900-gold/100-copper coins are bead-blasted, they tend to turn a little pinkish.
I suspect that what the US Mint did when these coins were originally minted was to acid-dip the planchets, which leaches an extremely small amount of copper from the surface, leaving a more yellow color. But any abrasion on the coins reveals the naked (pinkish) alloy color.
Thanks @dcarr for the explanation, no doubt these were tricky to overstrike. I sent a 1909-D in XF, figured the mint mark would show ghosted, but it was wiped clean. No trace of the original date either. Begs the question if you were to use a heavily polished/jewelry piece, would it come out still like new? Yeah, I agree with the pinkish tint now that you mention. I recall a similar discussion on gold coloring when overstriking the $20 gold coins.

Some mint-marks on original coins are so faint they are hard to see. The mint mark is the only part of the design that protrudes above the fields. So that is the first thing that gets obliterated during the over-strike.
Polished "jewelry" pieces generally work just as well as MS65s, so long as they don't have edge cuts or puncture wounds.
@Goldminers said: @dcarr Will you be able to do this for the $10 Indians eagles?
I have one available to send in if you have a $10 gold die design available for overstriking it.
From your above discussion they will be easier to strike without doubling since they are not incuse like the half eagles were.
.
.
I have not done any die work for a gold Eagle ($10). But I will eventually. The mechanics of doing those will be about the same as any other normal-relief coin of similar size.
@dcarr - Thank you for all of your coin and medal art, but thank you this time for filling that 1979 Ike spot that I've been hoping for years. I feel like a kid at Christmas!

I didn't know about this Eisenhower dollar history until I checked Dan's Moonlight Mint site. Wicked cool!
During the later years of producing the Eisenhower Dollars, the US Mint contemplated changing them to a smaller size. Ultimately, Susan B Anthony was chosen as the theme for the new small dollars of 1979. There exists a vintage photograph of an apparent small-format 10-sided 1977 Eisenhower Dollar pattern piece. The issued Susan B Anthony dollars had an 11-sided rim. 1979 was the 10th anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon Landing, and this was likely the reasoning for the 11-sided rim.
Check out this 2013 “Open House” Buffalo nickel I just found.
I call it my “Double Dong “ Buffalo ‼️👀🎯‼️
It has a lot of kool aspects to it……. Doubling on the obverse,( around the feathers, and eye lids and the nose almost looks like he has a nose ring‼️
But the reverse is the kicker ‼️
It appears as if the Buffalo has two dongs‼️👀🎯‼️
Kool find if I must say myself ‼️‼️👍👍🎯⁉️
Ahhh finally - after the post office played tag with my 1933 Indians for two weeks I was able to drive to the local HQ and lay my hands on them. All looks great, one gold and a couple silver. Merry Christmas to me
