My Roy playing days PC recently crept over the 90% completion mark. Completing this Reprint Auto set sits near the top of my goals, so adding two at one time was nice:
Main collecting focus is Patrick Roy playing days 85/86-02/03, expect 1/1, National/All-Star stamped cards.PC Completion: 2,702/2,986; 90.49% My Patrick Roy PC Website:https://proy33collector.weebly.com
They were pack issued in 02/03 Topps and feature reprints of all Topps issued base cards from 86/87-01/02. There are 14 total in the set, and all are supposed to be hand numbered to 33. Some of them are not for whatever reason, I haven't figured that one out yet. This one does not any hand numbering, and only about half the copies I have are numbered.

I know this isn’t a BST thread, but I find myself in need of a couple of cool Bruins cards for some shows I’ll be setting up at in the near future. If anybody is looking to move any, please PM me. Thanks!
Thank you sir, that bat ear bottom right corner sometimes gets downgraded, other times they consider it rough cut IME.
The Lemieux, been buying those for years and can’t find one I love. Most of the 9s I’ve seen are skewed. Here is a crappy phone pic of my 8, looks better in hand.
Curious if anyone knows anything about these Beckett Hockey cover cards. I have 2 different kinds but can't find much about them other than a few ebay listings. Does anyone know if the print run is public? Any "checklists" out there (in quotes because they aren't numbered, but maybe a list of subjects)?
These are metal - obviously handed out during the 2018 Spring Toronto Expo. I have a Gretzky, Howe, and this guy:
These are paper. All have blue borders and I have 10 - Malkin, Gretzky, Sakic, Crosby, Kane, Forsberg, McDavid, Ovie, Price, and this guy again:
Beckett seems to do cover cards annually (or close to it), but it looks like it's mostly a scavenger hunt of their primary magazine crossing all sports at the National - wasn't able to find much info
about the hockey magazine versions. Thanks for any help.

Very cool! I still have the Farewell Mario Beckett magazine as I was collecting Joe Thornton around that time and the hype of the 1997 Draft along with Marleau.
eBay pickup that arrived last week. Happy to knock this one off the PC want list, I wasn't holding out much hope of getting this at a reasonable cost:

I’m a big Price fan and have a pretty solid PC going.
Was also fortunate last year to have him play in a Special Olympics golf tourney I put on every year. Solid guy, he volunteers for our local group, very down to earth fella.
The BAP is a pop 1 and the Prizm is lightly graded, maybe 3 total? Fairly rare card.

Was going to wait for a 10 but this was 1/10th the price and good enough for me!
Very nice card! I’m watching a Fuhr 10 on eBay that 4 sharp corners is auctioning that looks off-centered L-R. You did very well! I would rather have your card.
A big thanks to shagrotn77 for the lead to pick up the Chara that I have been searching for. That lead to buying the Roenick, Fluery and Recchi. The Neely’s were an eBay purchase that came in today.
Yes. A legendary day as another photo from that day lived on a record number of times. I did a count a while ago in another thread about multiple use photos in sets. I did another snap count of about 17 times in just the Topps sets from 71-72 through 74-75. This includes league leader, team leader, trophy, all-star and base. Other than the 72-73 base, I believe OPC was identical. I haven't checked OPC all-star, leader or trophy cards for 70-71 or 71-72.
Edit: I took a look at the additional Phil Esposito cards in the 70-71 and 71-72 OPC sets and they did not use the "straight-on, rockin' the slacks" photo mentioned above.
I only found out about this one fairly recently. I thought it might take an eternity to track down, but I got lucky. While I'm stoked to have this one, it does take some of the shine off of '69 Nedomansky:
"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."
Not a recent pickup but been waiting too many years to say it’s the first card of a HOF’er! Tough 1989 Sabres Campbell’s Soup / Franco American perforated set with Alexander Mogilny’s first card (XRC).

Cool item. I believe that is also Rob Rays first card as well.
Thanks. Actually, as it turns out Rob Ray's first card is the 1988-89 Procards Rochester Americans Junior League card. And keeping on Sabres' favorites from that era, Brad May's first card is in the tougher to find 1988-89 Niagara Falls Thunder set which also has the first card of Keith Primeau. HOF'er Pierre Turgeon has his first cards in the 1987 Hostess/Wonder Bread Sabres Perforated Set as well as a 1987 Sabres Blue Shield Post Card (not pictured). HOF'er Dave Andreychuk had his first card way back in the 1980 Oshawa Generals Junior league set. Although not in the above set, HOF'er Dale Hawerchuk has his first card in the 1981-82 Winnepeg Jets Post Card set (although to me they are small enough to be just called cards). Not pictured because i am too lazy to dig them out is Phil Housleys first cards are in different colors from the side panels of 1982-83 local Buffalo dairy companies' and grocery stores' milk cartons (the right reason to be pictured on the side of a milk carton, lol!), These players bring back some great AUD memories!

Remember those Niagara Falls Thunder cards very well! Had a great team in that time period, unfortunately Niagara Falls arena where they played is no more as it was torn down earlier this year and is now just a vacant lot.
Just back from PSA. I'd prefer an unsigned copy, but these don't exactly grow on trees, so this'll do just fine for now:

I was looking on ebay one day and came across it.
I was fortunate to meet this legend yesterday and get his French rookie signed.
Love the big auto on that card!
Awesome card. Where did you meet him?
Brian
He did a signing in the Boston area. He was in town for the 4 Nations tournament.

Yaz Master Set
#1 Gino Cappelletti master set
#1 John Hannah master set
Also collecting Andre Tippett, Patriots Greats' RCs, Dwight Evans, 1964 Venezuelan Topps
A recent SGC sub. I think they got the Chelios wrong and were confused on the rough cut.
The Mario has a surface issue, centering on that card can be brutal so love how it presents.
The Yzerman, always loved that card.
The Chelios has strong centering and merited at least an 8 or maybe a 9. Love the Lemieux!

McDavid played amazing for Canada. Hopefully his Oilers can turn it around quickly and make another run in the playoffs.
I picked this up in the fall. Very pleased with it.
Wow thats a banger! What is the pop on dual 10s?
It was a pop 12 the last I checked. Hope it stays low!
Suspect it will, thats a card where the pop will be controlled.
Heard this guy was doing well. Big guy, goal scorer. One never knows!

Got this a few weeks ago.
Finally decided to add one of these to my pc

Thanks! This one isn’t perfect but buying anything from the US now is a non starter with tariffs and this card was well priced and in Canada.
Love SGC Gretzky's!

Me too. It's nice to be one of the coolest vintage collector old farts in my quaint little village.
Farewell Ozzy.
