The OFFICIAL COINSTAR FINDS THREAD

Coming back from feeding the Cats, Mexican store nothing, Nob Hill nothing. Safeway, no silver but $2 in quarters, some change, a 10 Pasco and a 25 cent Canadian piece...

Never find anything ... last night wife had to run into Walmart to pick up photo order, checked the coin star, 42 cents, 4 dimes , 2 pennies, one of the dimes was a 64D. Photo order was not ready as order was never processed. Went back this morning, 27 cents, 1 quarter, 2 pennies. The quarter was a shiny 64D.

Found this and others in a machine as me and a friend were given over 50 coin machines to trash.
Or for a better word, to recycle. Coins were everywhere in side the housing and attached to a very , very powerful magnet. I really don't want to explain the who, what, or where and how part.
I may have told and showed this years ago but all are still in hand. This steel

coin looks great for it's age.

It's 56 Day! Just found 56 cents worth of coins with a dead rubber band stuck to them so we know why they were rejects;

56 cents worth of absolutely normal coins that should NOT have been rejected;

and the Grand Champion dryer coin of all time that anybody would reject:

Two things about that 1965 Quarter.

First, we now have 59-year old coins in change again, and

Second, I can remember when I got my first 1965 Quarter. Late 1965 or early 1966 up at our corner candy store. The lady who ran it was nice, and she sometimes had her elderly father helping out at the cash register while she stocked the shelves. He was ancient (to me then) with really thick glasses.

A couple of us went up there after school, and I bought something that should have given me a dime and a nickel and three cents in change, but when I went outside and looked at my change (hey, I was a collector!) I found a dime, three cents and a bright and shiny COPPER-NICKEL quarter. I quickly guessed that the old guy had mistaken it for a five cent piece because of his bad eyesight, and it was grey like a nickel instead of white like a silver quarter. Because the lady was nice I went back in and showed it to her and explained the change in color to her, so she could figure out how to get her father to look at the change more closely. Back then 20 cents was worth something, and she could have lost a lot of money if her Dad gave away a whole roll of clad quarters as nickels.

I have not seen anything in the Coinstar machine in a long time. I think the employees get there first.

Lightning strikes twice!
Same Coinstar, same store, twice in a row! This time it was under the front edge of the machine. This 1963 is my third Coinstar silver of the year and my seventh overall.

After a months long hiatus, I found a 1963 silver dime.

A small handful at the CU today—

Nothing for a year, then a double handful of literally junk, then nothing for at least a year, and then this,
all by it's lonesome. i like it!

I received 3 dimes today, all clad. Yay me!
