Leap Years: Rare Overdates Among United States Coins

The 1942/1 Mercury Dime is one of the most famous of the 20th-century overdates, though there are many other fascinating overdates that literally “leap” a year or even more. Although the majority of U.S. overdates are sequentially dated, there are a number of curious issues with a date that skips or “leaps” a year or two (or even three!), a few of which rank among the greatest rarities of United States coinage.

Many numismatists don't think this 1809/8 is an overdate but PCGS does so here we are. Whatever it is, all 1809s have it.

There is an 1836/1336 half dollar.

1824 was a leap year and the mint employees were extra hippity hoppity and produced two leap year overdates.
Since the article is about overdates with non-sequential dates, why use an image of a 1942/1 Mercury dime (which was not even made in the same way)? Twentieth century overdates such as the 1942/1 dime are Class III doubled dies, while 18th and early 19th century overdates were overpunched by hand.

V-1
V-2 (V-6 uses the same obverse, but the overdate is less apparent)
V-4 (V-5 uses the same obverse, but the overdate is less apparent)

Thought the date looked a little strange!
This one is very rare, about 36 known and <20 in this late die state:
edit - in a way, it is a leap year as there were no 1804 dated half dollars struck, 1803 to 1805
1812 would have been a leap year too ... '12/1 Small 8
