    Thank you,
This coin sold at Heritage back in 2012 “I think” for over 4K. It now resides in my collection.
    Thank you for the compliment😊

The bitterness of "Poor Quality" is remembered long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.

I’m mainly a peace dollar guy, but I recently put together a reasonably modest, eBay only 20th century type set (no gold) for a bit of a personal challenge.

I’d never really liked Barbers much, but this quarter changed my mind. It’s now one of my top five faves.

Newbie collector of type and circulated Peace dollars, photographer of places and animals, player of instruments and builder of amplifiers, espresso industry professional, and a person distracted by shiny objects.

I love the 1804 large cent!

I love this crusty, stained AG3 early die state 1855/854 as well. I picked it off eBay at the same time I was purchasing the 78-S and it was a fun distraction. I was delighted by the look of the coin even though the reverse appears to be stained on the wings,

Some coins speak to you, this one was shouting "BUY ME NOW!" That $48 coin made my day. It arrived the day before the 78-S along with a Newfoundland half that was lost in the mail for a month. Finally, Northwestern beat Illinois 45-43! It was the perfect weekend.

A 10-minute acetone soak didn't remove any toning from the wings. The best part is that it is a clear early die state. Any chance that it will straight grade? I think it could if such stains are considered acceptable for the low grade coin. If I have it conserved, they'll dip it and ruin the coin. It's likely going to be a desktop, Air-tite coin.

I was delighted that it survived grading as a AG3.
