@Coinscratch- I have no idea what the point of that CAC is on that PO-1 slab. Someone paid to have that done?

    Never seen a CAC on a “1” so now that’s technically a 2 and worth less :)

That would only be true if it were a gold CAC sticker. ;)

I guess it depends on which TPG'er you're talking about.

A couple more peculiar grades. For the speared eagle,

    (4) AU 58's known for NGC. None lower.

    (9) AU 55's for PCGS, only one lower @ AU 53.

Very very cool. I love the hunt. I've collected all I set out to for Banknotes & this is definitely my new interest. I picked up a NGC 2000-D, MS 61 recently, pop 3.

    MS 60's & 61's are pretty tough.

Another very peculiar grade. NGC has only graded 3 at this level for the 2000-D.

MS 60 is even tougher, with NGC & PCGS population at just (1) apiece.

Most were bought slabbed. I do have pocket pieces (Pres Dollars, Sac $1's) that I will eventually send in when they are heavily worn

I'm not sure they make it back, although some probably do. I was just commenting that they actually circulate in the Latin American countries that have adopted the dollar.

So you're saying they circulated in El Salvador and have been adopted in Latin American countries. You rarely (IMO) see these small dollars here in the U.S. in circulation or used for everyday commerce. Maybe they are used in casino's.

I just can't see these lowball dollars being created here. I'm assuming (and I probably shouldn't), these small dollars are heavily used and circulated in Latin America for everyday use. That's why they look the way they do. So they obviously make their way back here. Plus, I've also noticed that the vast majority of these lowballs are D's. I thought I read somewhere that D's were shipped down there.

This thread reminds me of a dollar coin hunt I did where most all of the coins were like you described, even wear, very worn, toned, etc.
They went to the throwback pile immediately after checking for varieties. I was looking for ms67 or better and had no idea that there was value in lowball.
Looking back they were prolly around 8 or 10? But close enough to work on.

I can see where this could be addictive i’ll stop by the hardware store and get some 400 grit on the way back to the house lol.
Actually my neighbors got a power grinder thingy i’ll just tell him I got an Ike to grind.

Looking at the PCGS pricing guide MS-68 looks like the sweet spot. Quite a few are $200+ with a few over $1K and 2006-D at $4.5K. In MS-69 there are only eight values given (few years graded in 69?) and the 2005-D is at $8K.

The longer I live the more convincing proofs I see of this truth, that God governs in the affairs of men. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without His notice is it possible for an empire to rise without His aid? Benjamin Franklin

I have some worn proofs (2000s, 2001s) I'm wearing down even further. Let's hope for a PR53 or lower.

How are you wearing them down?

Just carrying in my jeans pocket during my 12 hr shifts.

    That'll work. 👍🏻 👍🏻

    @OAKSTAR

PCGS Population now notes (1) Good 4. This must be fairly new to the census. I'd be all over it if it hit the market

    Rare Nationals &
    Lowball Sacagawea Dollars (PO01-VF35)

A couple more peculiar grades. For the speared eagle,

    (4) AU 58's known for NGC. None lower.

    (9) AU 55's for PCGS, only one lower @ AU 53.

Selling both. 100 out the door for both.
